We arrived in Airlie Beach checked into our hostel, Backpackers on the Bay (the only one that didn't have bed bugs so we heard) which was about a 10-15 min walk into town. We had an evening out which was ok, someone needs to advise these Ozzy men out in Queensland... they are horrid, hugly / dirty and just have no manners!! actually makes the English boys seem really appealing and VERY nice - shocking huh! 😊

The next day we checked in for our Whitsundays tour and then at 2pm on Wednesday we boarded the Boomerang (our yaucht/home for the next two nights). To our horror, it was really small and when we were under the deck being given a bed, it was so hot we just could not comprehend how we were going to be able to stay on it for 2 nights. But once we started moving and the air flowed, it was much better. Me and Lou were sharing a bunk which gave us about 30-40cm of head room, thought I might freak out from the claustrophobia in the night, sit up and knock myself out but all was ok! Lou decided to sleep on the

top decking to get more sleeping space but on that particular night the heavens decided to open, so we were back to square one again

We did some snorkelling but this time of year is stinger season, so we had to wear stinger suits whilst in the water - a bit like wet suits but not as thick - we looked hot!!!. We were then brought natchos on the beach and watched the sun set (Sorry Lilly - tried to get a picture of the nacho's for you but forgot to take my camera onto the beach - duh!)

The next day we were up at 6.30am - the group went snorkling in the morning, i didn't want to go as i was suffering with ichy skin from the VERY salty waters so I chilled and relaxed on the boat and caught some rays... (nothing changes there - more tanning for me!! by the way the tan is coming along fineeeeee!) in the afternoon we headed to Whitehaven Beach. On the way, a small dolphine swam along side the boat, it was amazing - not sure if i can upload videos on here but will try and you can all see for yourselves! Once we moared up near the beach, giant turtles swam by the boat, lying on their backs and spitting water. We were dropped off on Whitsunday Island and walked to a look at spot that gave the most amazing view over the islands. The different blues of the sea and white sandy beaches where just undescribable. After soaking up the beautiful scenery we headed down to the beach which once again was fantastic. The sand was so soft and when wet, it felt like walking in snow.

Whitsundays unfortunately had to come to an end but it was topped off with an after party in Airlie Beach - which was great, partying to the wee hours again in the morning done a little bar crawl... needless to say end up with a sore head the following morning.

next stop Agnes Water...
