Beautiful Day at the Beach

Today was gorgeous so we decided to go to the beach again and actually go swim in the ocean this time! We walked along the same way we had before and found a couple of really tiny sand crabs. Chris managed to pick one up but it scurried off soon after. They were fast little critters! As we were walking to the more populated beach area to watch some of the surfers a group of Australian Pelicans landed not too far away from us. They were huge and allowed us to get very close to them. A guy near by was feeding them some of his fish bait so we also got to see them eat. They were beautiful birds!

The water was surprisingly warm! I guess since it's around a constant 70 degrees there the water doesn't get very cold. They waves were very strong but we had fun jumping in them all day. We also had to build a sand castle!

As it started to get dark we headed to Mooloolaba for supper and ate at a really good Italian restaurant. Here I ordered lemonade and was surprised when they brought me Sprite. Chris forgot to warn me that that is what they call their lemonade. I think the call American version of lemonade lemon juice, but I never found out for sure.
