Well we arrived in Brisbane after a hellish 14 hour flight, we got the air train to our hostel in the city cente which lucky for us was right across the road from the train station, as we didn't fancy trekking around with our backpacks on for any longer! As soon as we got the the hostel we went to bed to sleep off the jet lag! Later on that night we went for a walk around the botanic gardens by the river which where lovely after that we went back to bed for more sleep!
The next day we got up early and went and had a wander around brisbane which we soon discovered was very expensive even our trusty maccies! Or 'maccas' as they like to call it over here! On the saturday we just had a walk down to Streets beach across the river which is a gorgeous man made beach right in the city the sun was out and we sat and paddled for abit and chilled out!
After that we decided to go on a river cruise that would take us to see Story Bridge and other little attrations along the river, it was
nice but chilly! Still not as warm as we both though Oz would be right now definately not bikini weather!! The tour guide on the boat infromed us that this river was crawling with bull sharks and sometimes they jumped out of the water, we never seen any though! He told us though that a few weeks ago one of the sharks jumped out of the water landed on the deck of a boat and skidded off the other side... sounded a bit far fetched though!
On the sunday we went to Stee Irwins Australia Zoo which was AMAZING!!!
The hostel we are in is abit of a dive, we are glad we have only got 1 night left now and then we fly up to Cairns tomorrow! It was definately a comedown after the luxury of our executive suite! We had had a whole charade of characters in our room aswell! A trunchball lookalike, 2 chinese 20 yearolds going on 12 with all their cartoon towells and hello kitty paraphernalia, they where cute though they turned their bunkbeds into a little den with all their clothes and towells, and when we thought we had taken too much
in out bags these kids took it one step further with a HUGE rucksack and suitcase each!! Then we had the 'exotic dancer' who was a real character, a greasy old brazillian also harassed us for a while! This place has them all! BUT the thing that has really got to us is the RUSTLING!!! No matter what time of night it is 12, 2, or 4 you can guarantee someone is rustling there supply of asda bags! We were really close to wrapping one round some girls neck the other night... it was 2 o clock in the mornin these 2 opposite us had all their bags out, and one of them was sat there rustlin around makin like 100 rollies while we where tryin to get to sleep she had a serious production line goin on, we couldnt of huffed and puffed and more than we did yet they carried on!
We have just booked our trip to the Whitsundays, Fraser Island, Rainbow beach, and the Great Barrier Reef from this tour opperator and we got a good deal so we're dead excited!! Not doing it untill the end of October but it gives us chance to
find a job first and earn abit of extra money! The boat we are booked to sail the whitsundays on looks gorgeous! We're not sure how we are going to manage 2 nights camping on fraser island with the dingoes though and no showers!! lol
It has rained here the past few days so we can't wait to get to Cairns now where its meant to be alot hotter! Can't put any pictures on atm because the computer we are on 'may have a virus' so we don't wanna get infected! Put pictures on soon!
