Sunday 16 October
Went for a drive to check out Dingo Beach, Hideaway Bay, Montes Reef Resort and the Cape Gloucester Eco Resort about 50klms north of Airlie.
Dingo Beach is a lovely beach with a very old hotel right on the beach, there were a lot of boat trailers parked under the trees so premume this must be a great fishing spot and of course it was Sunday. The pub did lunches and live music and would have been hopping later in the day when the fishermen returned.
Montes Reef Resort ia at Hideaway and has been renovated just recentley and was right on the beach so we had lunch there overlooking the ocean - just beautiful. Ideal spot to stay overnight for any special occasion (or for no reason at all) as the units were right on the beach. The road to this resort and Cape Gloucester Eco Lodge is gravel but well worth the drive out to have a look. Cape Gloucester Eco Resort had a beautiful outdoor bar area overlooking the ocean and pool, again just beautiful.
The scenery around this area is just beautiful, nearly every beach we go to just looks like your on you
own island retreat.
