Leaving Hamilton Island...Leaving Hamilton Island...Leaving Hamilton Island...

It was such a beautiful boat ride to Airle Beach, on the top deck with the cool sea breeze in the hot sun...
Well I left Hamilton Island on a big boat to head to the mainland after my birthday. Boy is it hot up here in Queensland. It's beautiful...and is so great that you don't have to wear a jumper in the evenings like in Melbourne! I really didn't know what to expect from Airlie Beach, but one thing for sure, I didn't realise it was just one long strip which has everything on it! Bars, Clubs, Cafes, Restaurants, Accomodation etc It's all on one not very long strip of road...very strange, I thought it would be more like a bigger town...

At the moment my accomodation is in this little hut with 7 other people, it's very basic but has its own bathroom in the hut... So yes, basically for the past couple of nights I've been going out and socialising, enjoying my new found love of wine, eating eggplant, having a little dance, strolling down on the beach and laughing at all the posers down by the lagoon... Have met some cool people here though, one having the strongest Ozzie accent I've heard so far, I mean when people impersonate an Australian's accent it's usually waaaay over the top to
Hut party #1...Hut party #1...Hut party #1...

This was my little group at the first hut party, ahah I love taking photos using the timer...
what they do actually sound like...oh and another lady who I think is in her early 50's but comes across as if she's 20 odd...ah she's lovely, we've been singing Queen together as no one had any speakers at our little hut party...she's also been telling me about her piercings, a fair few which aren't on her facial area...and are niether above her hips...ouch...

I'm looking forward to coming back here when I eventually work down the east coast towards the end of my time in Australia, as I really want to go on one of the 3 day/2 night sailing trips in the Whitsundays, which leave from Airlie Beach...ahh it sounds so beautiful, so I'm really looking forward to that! I reckon I will probably stay in the huts again as the atmosphere was so great. So many people had guitars, and one hut even had a guy with bagpipes! So there was music all the time 😊 Alot of people I met there were also travlling solo so everyone was super friendly and it was cool to get a little group together for our hut parties...(one which we actually managed to get speakers for!)...and especially to go and get some pie and goon...ahaha...lots of fun 😊

Oh yes, and I have now realised that there is no limit to how many pictures you can put up on this blog, so expect alot more pictures everyone, hopefully, and I will eventually add more to my past blogs, there's alot of photos I want you all to see but didn't include as I thought there was a limit! Oops...so keep having a look back for any new photos 😊

'Hooroo!' (Bye!)
