Well, day 2 has come and gone and we're still doing the touristy thing. Went through Hyde Park and had ourselves a picnic lunch, then checked out the ANZAC War Memorial to the fallen soldiers. Australians take great pride in their Men-at Arms and the sacrifices that they have made. It was interesting to see the exhibits containing items from as far back as World War I. The one piece that stands out most in my mind was the Nazi propaganda that was dropped into Aussie camps. I unfortunately couldn't take any pictures inside the exhibit area, but if you get a chance to and are in Sydney, I'd definitely recommend going and exploring some of Australia's history.

After Hyde park, we made our way up and through the Royal Botanical Gardens. There were many different types of plants here, including tropical, herb, and otherwise. It' still gets me to see tropical trees everywhere and fig trees just growing randomly throughout the city. These fig trees also grow to be absolutely enormous with amazing root structures! As we were walking through, we looked up and saw an amazing sight. Up high is some of the trees were some huge fruit

bats! I think one pooped on me, but I can't be too sure. We were constantly looking up to make sure they weren't going to swoop down on us. They were surprisingly active for that time of day. The Gardens brought us up to the point in which we were waiting to see all day and pretty much for the last year; the Sydney Opera House.

Pictures simply can not describe the awe that you experience when you see it. It's massive peaks are even more impressive in person. We walked around it for a little bit and took some photo's. It was very hard to get a good shot of it in it's entirety without being far away from it, which also made getting a shot of it with either Charlotte or I very difficult indeed. We didn't go inside or check out the box office. We do plan on attending a show there at some time, but we'll have to wait for funds to co-operate before that.

Beside the Opera House, the Harbour bridge is easy to see and photograph. You wouldn't think a bridge could be so beautiful, but it is really something to see.

As we were standing there, we saw people climbing up to the top, which is a tour you can take for a substantial amount of money. Charlotte and I will probably take the tour at some point, because it'll provide some amazing vantage points for photo's.

After our adventures there, we walked around downtown Sydney and just took in the sights and sounds. After a long day of walking, we made our way back to the hostel, cleaned up, debated on going out for drinks, and passed out. My body just isn't used to this walking around all day thing (yet).
