Hi Everyone!!
I'm so sorry about the unbelievable time lapse between my blogs...what can I say I'm having far too much fun. So just to catch you all up super fast on the events of the past few months, until I can get myself caught up properly, is as follows.
As you all probably know I went over to the west coast of Oz for a job I'd lined up with Finn, but that fell incredibly flat the minute I entered the country, ah well, I'm now convinced that was a good think, because as good funa s it would've been to work woth Finn, I'm not sure I could've coped with her boss and being in recruitment. It just seems to have been the final sign I needed to tell me not to carry on along that path. Finn and Tony however,s till put up with me, and I had an awesome Christmas with them, lapping up the sun and th warm weather and a few drinks along the way! Just before Christmas I got myself a waitressing job in an English run restaurant called Henry's of Subiaco, which allowed me to save upa few pennies and book
myself back onto a plane to the East coast again - which is where you find me now!!! I've been back in Sydney for a week now, and I've already sorted myself out with a house and some temporary employment!! It's been a real whirlwind!!
I came over to Sydney as I knew that Nisha and Amie (who you may remember from the Cook Island and Fiji blogs) are over here. Unfortunately Amie was only in Sydney for a coupleof days after I arrived, but I did at least manage to see her! I arrived on Monday and was immediately introduced to my new housemate to be, Nina, who is a friend of Nisha's from home! As my flight had been an early one I walked into the hostel to find them still in bed chatting!! We got ourselves sorted and then went over to a hostel around the corner where Amie and her friend Carly were staying, and from there we piled down to Circular Quay and got a ferry over to Manly beach. As I'd made the incredibly sensible idea of travelling to Sydney over Australia Day weekend (a HUGE celebration of the first landing of the
English boats into Sydney, and a VERY big deal to every true blue Aussie), the beach was absolutely HEAVING, there was barely space for us all to lay down our towels, it was unbelievable (and if I hadn't already been missing perth that was almost ebough to make me get back on the plane and get back onto their stunning empty beaches!!! Ah well!!) We stayed there for the majority of the beach, although swimming there was almost as cramped as the beach and the waves were scary strong with and even scarier rip underneath - a really good combo when your jetlagged and haven't slept for 24 hours!!! While we were at the beach we were also joined by 2 guys that Nish and Amie met after I left Fiji, Darren and Rich - I'd pretty much walked off the plane adn into an established group of friends!! They all made me feel so welcome it's like I'd known them all forever!!!
After a well needed snooze on the beach we grabbed some food on the way back to the hostel, then got ourselves showered and changed, and met back up again for drinks at Amie and Carly's hostel, sat by the pool!! It was awesome!! But just whn I thought I might collapse through exhaustion evryone got up and headed off to a bar/club around the corner and I was swept along and ended up having an awesome time!!!
Since then Nina and I have spent a few days job/apartment hunting, to no real success, until Nisha lined up a house viewing and ended up finding us our lovely house that has a pink door!! It's a bit more than we'd hoped for, but it's a lovely house and we have a garden, and we're just around the corner from the boys house!! Not long after we'd got that sorted on the Friday I got a call froma girl I met over hear last time through Amy, who offered me a couple of weeks temping work in the company she's works for!!! What a day!! A house and a job to pay the humongous rent!!!!
As we'd got that sorted our plan for the weekend just gone was to chillout on the beach adn enjoy ourselves, now that we had the huge weigh t lifted off our shoulders, however the weather put pay to that!! I really lived up to my name as 'The Bringer of Rain'!! I'm starting to wonder whether I actually should start maketting myself out to rain starved countries!! They might actually pay me to visit them!!! We ended up spending the weekend window shopping at the huge shopping centre at Bondi!! Ah well!! Teh rain continud to make things fun on Monday when we were trying to move into the house!! We checked out of our hostel on Monday morning before w went to work having left the bulk of our stuff at the boys the day before. So the idea was that all we had to do once we were in was go round the corner and pick everything up - however the heavens were well and truely open and we ended up gettign soaked to the bone!! All good fun!! But we're in!! We have a lovely little house and we're all on our way to getting some employment!! Apart from the crummy weather , life is good!! Although by now you lot must be losing the will to live with all my rambling!!!
Will try and get caught up with all the rest of my adventures!!
Love to all xxx
