Hello All
yes I'm writing again to keep you updated! So what's happened so far?! Well the plane to Sydney went without any real dramas! Apart from I realised that I am actually carrying half my body weight, how ridiculous is that?! My rucksack weighs 20kg, then I have a bag of toiletries and at that point a bag of food which must have easily weighed 10 or 15kg! By the time I got to Siobhans I was knackered! Good job she had a huge pot of spag bol on the ready and some red wine, ahh!!! Now that's what I call a nice welcoming!
Didn't actually do much in Sydney. I managed to get a few days work doing filing and stuff! On the 17th, Wednesday I worked for Sydney council in their sex industry department! How random is that! Before I'd been doing photocopying and filing in an advertising company so this made a real change! The man I was working for was really nice and I now know where all the brothels are in Sydney, should I ever need further work, hurrah!!! (Just in case you weren't aware, brothels are legal in New South Wales!).
On the weekend, the 13th, me, Shiv and Linc went to a fancy dress party. The theme was Liverpool as they are all big Liverpool fans and they'd gotten into the FA cup final, or something like that. Shiv went as Cila Black and I went as Ken Dodd! Linc just went as himself, but he was made to put some red on in support of the team!
Sunday, we just mooched around, I bought some pencils etc, as after talking to a woman at the party, I've decided to sketch as I go along! I've tried it and so far I just feel like a dick-head, but hey, that might go away!
Thursday, I got the train to Byron Bay, one of the most beautiful places I've been to so far! Its so gorgeous and very laid back! The train however, was not gorgeous. It took THIRTEEN AND A HALF HOURS, and because some clever sod in the government took away the train to Byron Bay, we had to get off and get coaches for the a last hour! I swear, a large proportion of Australia's inbred were on that train, and I'm not exaggerating, well maybe
a little! We'd had some wine the night before as well so I felt a bit rough, until I ate a kit kat and some hot chocolate, hmmmm!
I got picked up from the bus stop by the hostel and met a girl and a boy in the bus who are really nice! I went out with them last night and I think we're going to meet up in Brisbane! We went for a drink on Friday night at the bar onsite and we all agreed that the hostel wasn't that great! They moved the next day but I couldn't be bothered, seeing as I was only staying for a bit! Friday, I did the walk to the Lighthouse which was really nice and I ate a massive homemade ice-cream at the top. Friday night, i had some Space Chocolate (sorry dad) and was then incapacitated for the whole of the night so I didn't go out! Saturday, yesterday, I went to Nimbin, which is where the hippies first congregated or something like that. Its where weed is kind of decriminalised, so everyone who lives there is a stoner, etc! It was good to see it, but we were

This was a beautiful oyster farm I think, on the lake, and it was stunning, very special! there for about two hours and i got bored! We then went to this American's house Paul, who lived in the forest in a house that he made which is cool. He was telling us that he planted all the trees when he came, 28 years ago. He's got exotic fruit trees etc and he gave us some and also some Macadamia nuts, which we had to crack!
After that, we went to a waterfall, but just looked from the top and then we came back. My favorite bit was just driving around and seeing all the country that I wouldn't have usually seen from the train or normal Greyhound bus. Last night, I went out with Hannah and Anna as they're staying in the same hostel and today, I'm traveling to Brisbane. I'm just waiting for the bus now and I'm bored! My first attempt at traveling on my own has gone ok, but I think I need a lot more practice at it! Its completely different from traveling with other people, and times like this, when you're waiting for stuff, is really shit! I think as well I need to try harder to mingle. I just feel

I love these photos so there's lots of them! really uncomfortable, as I know that everyone else knows that I haven’t got anyone else to talk to! I'm hoping that my inhibitions will leave me soon though. Well, they'll have to otherwise I'll be coming home!
Right, that's me anyway! Will write again soon!
Take care
Julie
