Bryce Canyon National Park
The beautiful Bryce Canyon Had quite a bad night’s sleep last night due to all the loud snoring going on in the bunk house. We all got ready and got in the van on our way to Bryce Canyon National Park. But it was quite a long drive so Jon took a shortcut through a dirt road called the ‘Grand Staircase’ which is closed when there has been rain anytime in the last week, lucky for us there hadn’t. The road was so bumpy and rough the van was all over the road but it was all great fun. Jon was getting a little excited and speeding this massive van up and down narrow roads and sharp turns. We first stopped at the Bryce Canyon Visitor’s Centre and had a quick look around. I bought a book about all the National Parks in the country but for most people this was a chance to call family. When we arrived in Bryce Canyon the first thing we did was have some lunch, sandwiches and crisps again of course.
In the Bryce Canyon there were a few different hikes we could choose from depending on how far we wanted to go. Dave, Tina, Ben and I

Hiking through the spectacular Bryce Canyon did the longest hike to get a good look around this fascinating National Park. This place had amazing rock formations which were constantly being eroded away, even still today. It was really hot outside today and half way through our hike we were already wishing for the end, in some parts the uphill climbs were quite steep. We took plenty of photos of this beautiful landscape as eventually we headed back to the van. It was a short wait for everyone else to arrive back at the van then we headed back to the dirt road for some more crazy driving. The other trek group apparently were feeling sick on this road so they took the normal way around which added almost two hours to the journey.
On the way back we stopped by Wal-Mart because tonight the other trek group wanted to throw a Halloween party in the barn. Since none of us had costumes we tried our luck in Wal-Mart and bought crappy costumes for tonight’s party. We arrived back at the campsite and made dinner, though it was creamy pasta with mushrooms so Hannah and I didn’t eat anything for tea. After we’d eaten most of

Unusual landscape of Bryce Canyon the other trek group were hanging around in our bunk house because of the awful weather. But none of them could be bothered dressing up to party in the van. We couldn’t believe it, they’d convinced us to join them but they couldn’t be bothered. So we started to dress up in our scary costumes and eventually they did the same. My costume was too big and Hannah’s was too small so we swapped, didn’t really make much difference since we were both inmates who had escaped. We went to the barn played the scariest music we had on our iPod’s and drank and played pool again till the early hours of the morning.
