Sunday 8th of July So tired, is the only way I can describe the way a felt when I woke up on this day. I tried so hard to get up in the morning to have breakfast but I just ended up rolling around in bed and farting about in our room for hours. After just a few days our room was an absolute state. I can't say I am the tidiest person in the world but I try and keep my stuff in order where possible. Anyway i decided it was time I went down to the pool to catch up on some much needed sun bathing. When we all finally got down to the pool it was completely empty we had it all to ourselves. The first thing we did was dive in the deep end it did say no diving but it was 7'6" deep there was no chance of hitting the bottom. We were suddenly transported back to being 9 years old again. "Watch me, Watch me" was all you could hear. As our travel mum Annalise would say "I'm watching," or "well done boys" this was all said whilst continuing to read her magazine. The tennis
ball was again brought out to separate the men from the boys. We were launching it at each other, diving in the pool trying to catch it, heading it, kicking it, fetching it from the road! It was great fun but after a certain amount of time it all just seems to easy. We all need something new a new rush. It was time to get Steve's water proof camera out and take some pictures of us diving off the wall that surrounded the pool. Sorry if this worries you my parents, but always remember I'm attempting despite my dyslexia and general poor English, to write this in the past tense so I have already done it and I'm fine. Was scary though jumping off a 5 foot wall into seven foot of water. But boys will be boys as they say. After some cool diving photos it was time to get some photos of the group under the water. So we took some of the chairs from around the pool and submerged them. We were sat taking stupid photos of each other at the bottom of the pool some of the photos were awesome one of the best is
where Michael and Karl had decided that they were going to moony the camera and Karl started to drift away. I had never used an underwater camera before so it was a massive novelty for me as you may expect. For a change Michael was sharing my joy of photography requesting more and more. After a few hours even the thrill of wall jumping had worn off. Karl, Steve and Michael went back to the room to do some research into the surrounding area. While they were away I got a chance to talk to Annalise properly and get to know her. She is a really sound down to earth nice girl. I have massive respect for her to come out on her own. Not because she is a woman because personally I would struggle to be on my own. But obviously she makes friends easily which is a credit to her personality. When they arrived back they found that there were lots of nearby lakes where we could partake in a verity of activities like cliff diving or diving from spring boards. So we all agreed we would go and check it out. Another fun filled roller coaster of a journey from Annalise. We arrived at the man made lake it was blisteringly hot and was $5 to get in. We all coughed up the money and set our things to one side Karl was first to dive in the section that said no diving but said nothing. I jumped straight after him the shock I felt as as the piercing cold rushed over my body was intense I came to the surface screaming profanities left right and centre forgetting how many small children were around. This seemed to really amuse the locals sat on the Side who knew how cold it was. Karl said he didn't want to seem a wuss that's why he said nothing. But when Michael, Annalise and Steve jumped in they all came to the surface, with the same impression as I got. I think the locals must just assume that all English people and Australians are foul mouthed. We swam to the other side there was even fresh water plants growing in the water it felt so weird on your feet, gave me the willies. On the other side was the diving board this would be where we cause the most havoc. Our diving was incredibly crap compared to most people we saw. Generally the older generation and the fatties bombed or slammed the water in any way they could. We put bets with each other to say what sort of dive the next person would do. The people with the best 'teckers' we're generally foreign and young. Even the ripped Olympic looking athletic wearing the plastic cap and speedos elbow dropped the water he lost me a lot of dollar, dam him. We got some amazing photos and videos with Steve's camera diving in the water. But the best ones were when we ended up body slamming or face planting it always brought a wince and a gasp from the on looking crowds. I was such good fun make me which I had a pool and diving board at home. Definitely need to work hard and stop spending all my money on traveling if I want one though. Unfortunately our enjoyment was cut short when a lighting storm began. I agreed it probably wasn't the safest place to be. We got in the car and headed back to the hotel when we got there we all pretty much got straight back into the pool. It was at this point Annalise informed use all that she had a date that evening. Brilliant, travel mum was going on a date with a guy that she met in the bar the night before. Almost a guaranteed cowboy he's from Texas. Karl, Steve, Michael and myself were praying he would arrive in a large truck with horns on the front grill, wearing a cowboy hat with a string neck tie and a long sleeved shirt. Annalise spent the next hour doing herself up. When he finally arrived he parked round the corner. Annalise probably told him we were going to wet ourselves if he had a truck. We were all stood at the pool wall peering over with towels over our heads to see him walk her greet him at the hotel. As they walked away we were shouting comments like "don't take advantage of our mum", "saddle up cowgirl" and "do you know how to drive a stick?" By now we were as pruned and wrinkly as a dried raisin. We adjourned back to our boudoir where we would spend many happy hours snuggled up in bed watching crap tv, and late the film Oceans 13. Michael and Steve dropped straight off to sleep while the film was on I am the sort of person that can't sleep when a film is on even if I have seen it I will have to watch it to the end. Tv just wakes me up and ruins my sleeping patron. The film finished and we went to sleep with no sign of Annalise. Michael's snoring was slowly getting worst and was waking me up on occasion but I was trying to sleep through it. Until I was woken up by Annalise strolling in
at 1am for a little lady she sure does make a lot of noise.
