New York City
Statue of Liberty watching over New York City We were doing a sightseeing cruise around the Statue of Liberty today, we got ready and left the hotel and arrived at the boat dock just in time for the cruise. We all bought Statue of Liberty hats and wore them around our cruise of the city. The cruise also had commentary about the different buildings and city landmarks we passed as we approached the Statue of Liberty. Passing it the boat went photo mad and everyone was scrambling to get the best shot they could as we circled the Statue of Liberty and headed for the Brooklyn Bridge. We went under the Brooklyn Bridge and also the Manhattan Bridge before it started spitting. The weather very quickly got much worse and by the time we were heading back to the dock it was absolutely pouring down. The boat docked and we got off and continued on down to Times Square to get some lunch. We were walking in the pouring rain and were all completely soaked, so much so occasionally we’d go into shop just to get out of the rain. I took the group to a nice pizza place I’d been to when I was here with Amy and

The view of the city from our boat cruise we all sat drenched, and ate lunch.
When we arrived in Times Square after lunch, most of it was closed off because they had a massive market going on. So we had a good look around, some of the group buying a few things. We spent quite a while looking around Times Square before some of us had to head off to a Broadway show that we’d booked back when we were in Seattle. Tonight we were going to see hairspray. We arrived at the theatre and took our seats to find that we were in the last row of the entire theatre. Don’t know how Tina managed to book the tickets four weeks in advance and only get us in the last row, but we weren’t going to let it get us down. Dave and I hit the bar and had a few beers to feel a little manlier, this show was incredibly girly, lots of singing and dancing. Though it was a great night out and everyone really enjoyed it. Afterwards we headed down Broadway into some souvenir shops and bought some more tacky T-shirts. Dave bought Min a strange cat which would go crazy when you

Going under Brooklyn Bridge squeezed it. It was then time to hit the bars. We went to Hard Rock Café to meet the others who were having dinner and after waiting over an hour to be served started having a drink. After a few hours Dave insisted we not leave them a tip because the service was terrible and eventually the staff were yelling at us on the street. We walked around and headed for another bar and eventually ended up in this small place which had Aussie rules football on the television. We drank till early in the morning and paid $100 for a cab back to the hotel. As we walked into our rooms we had seen that Ben had ordered room service. He didn’t come with us for whatever reason and had stayed in the hotel room all day. We went to sleep after 4AM in the morning.
