New York City
Skyscrapers standing over Central Park Woke up, didn’t even need to pack much stuff as there were hardly any tents up, we got ready and headed to New York City. We drove quite a way and it didn’t help that Jon got lost on the way into New York. We were actually staying in New Jersey because that’s where the trek meeting hotel was. It was incredibly annoying because it cost us a fortune to get around. We arrived at the hotel and went up to our rooms. Again I was supposed to share with Ben, but I refused, Lucy and Min offered me a bed in their room and they share a bed so I didn’t have to share again with Ben. We got ready quickly and met downstairs and took the bus into New York. Jon went off to do some business stuff so we wouldn’t actually see him for a few days.
When we arrived in the New York bus terminal we had a quick look around Times Square before we split up because we all wanted to do different things. Since I had already spent a while here I took Dave, Sara and Ben around to show them some of New

View of Times Square at night from the Empire State Building York City. We first went to Central Park and took a few photos around there before heading to Fao Swartz, the massive toy store with the keyboard you could stand on, Dave and Sara just had to do it. By this time it was already getting quite late, I recommended a couple of places to eat and took the group to Californian Pizza Kitchen. Tina brought a few extra friends that none of us knew which was a bit odd. Just before our food came out I headed down the road to Serendipity 3 to book a couple of tables, it was just over an hour wait and by the time we had finished dinner it was about time to head off to Serendipity. So I took the entire group to the most amazing desert restaurant ever, Tina’s friends left so it was once again just us. We were split onto two separate tables because it was easier than waiting for 1 massive table so it was Tina, Marcia, Dave, Ben and I on one table and Sara, Min, Elaine and Lucy on the other. We ordered heaps of deserts and couldn’t get anywhere near finishing them, but everyone loved

We thought it would be a good idea to go to the Empire State Building and have a look at New York City from one of the tallest buildings in the city. I’d already been up there during the day last time I was here, this time I got to do it at night, again an amazing view, a beautiful city all lit up at night. A few of us paid the extra amount and had access to the higher observation room. After spending some time looking at the city on the main level we headed up to the next observation room it was an enclosed room in a tight space and had a few windows, no-where near as good as the main observation floor. We headed back down and left the Empire State Building, making our way to Times Square to have a look around at night. We had a quick look around going up and down then decided to call it a night and find a cab back to the hotel. It ended up costing around $80 to get home but we eventually made it and went to bed.
