Rent - The musical on Broadway
This morning Amy and I were planning to meet some more of her friends from camp who were taking us out to breakfast. I was really in the mood for a big egg & bacon breakfast but the place we went to didn't serve the typical breakfast. We met them at Max Brenner which is a store which was famous for chocolate everything. We went in past the liquid chocolate fountains and pipes supposedly full of chocolate running around the restaurant. Amy and I order a sampler dish with different breakfast treats which were either covered in chocolate or you dipped in chocolate, it was quite good. Afterwards we decided to do some shopping and wandering around 34th street, not so much of a sightseeing day today. It was a terrible day in New York City and soon enough it started pouring rain, that’s when I decided to buy a waterproof jacket. After wandering for a while we went past the Flatiron building which is the oldest skyscraper in New York City, it's also very famous from a few television shows. I took a few photos, the best I could considering the pouring rain, so bad was the weather we couldn't

Soon after we said goodbye to Amy's friends and headed down to Times Square to try get some cheap tickets to a Broadway musical. We had our hearts set on seeing "The Lion King" but they didn't have any cheap last minute tickets and because it was booked out, if we wanted to go we had to wait in a line just in case someone cancelled. We couldn't be bothered lining up for something that we may not even be going to, so we decided to have a look at the last minute tickets and eventually after a difficult decision, bought tickets to see "Rent". The show wasn't for a few hours yet so we walked around Times Square again for a while taking photos and looking for new places to eat. We went past hooters and the late show filming studio and then all the way back towards the theater. It started around 8pm and went for about an hour and a half. I'd never seen a musical play before so I didn't really know what to expect, we got to our seats and realised that we had a partial

view of the stage, we could see the majority of it and in the end there wasn't much we didn't see. The show was fantastic, we really enjoyed it. We hung around for a bit after to see the actors then headed back to our hostel to bed.
