New York City
New York Stock Exchange, with a massive American flag Got up today and again met with Amy to go explore downtown manhattan. We hopped on the subway and headed for Wall Street to check it out. When we arrived we began to walk down Wall street looking at the real business end of New York City and before long ended up at the New York Stock Exchange which had the biggest American flag i've ever seen draped on the outside. It was a beautiful old building which stood opposite a statue of George Washington and Federal Hall, another beautiful building full of American history. We tried to get a closer look at the New York Stock Exchange but realised that it is closed to public and fenced off around the entire building with plenty of security roaming around. We continued on down Wall Street taking pictures of the different architecture and headed to Ground Zero which was only a few blocks walking distance away. From a distance you could see the unusuall 'space' between the other skyscrapers where the World Trade Centre once stood, an eiree feel considering so much of New York City is jam jacked with skyscrapers then you suddenly see this massive hole. I wasn't sure if

George Washington statue standing in front of Federal Hall it was right to take pictures at first because so I didn't out of respect but once we were standing across the road, so many people were taking pictures I decided too as well.
We crossed the road and went to the WTC Path Station which had lots of infomation about what happened and what they are doing in future construction. Just reading all the boards its hard not to feel the emotion that September 11 brought to New York City. The boards read: Restore, Repledge, Reconnect and Reflect. They are currently building the new Freedom Tower, along with two massive reflecting pool where the towers stood. On the other side a complete list of police and firefighters who were killed went on for ages. You can actually walk through some of the site where a subway station is located, from there you can look at the construction through the fence to get a better view. But there is really not too much to see around here, it's all constrcution. So we headed off to "Tribute WTC Centre" around the corner which had lots of memrobellia and personal stories on victims of September 11. This place is very emotional,

Beautiful Chruch located near Wall Street very hard to take in and many people leave in tears. Boxes of tissues were scattered around the exihibits for people to use. They also offered tours of the site which we decided to take after browsing through the tribute centre.
The tour was very good, they explained load of information and stories about September 11 and took us around to different viewing places to learn more about the World Trade Center. They pointed out the new buildings which are being built and also some of the buildings which was still begin deconstructed when we were there, 6 years after it orginally happened. At the end of the tour our tour guides told us how they were personally involved in September 11 and how it has affected their lives today. It was a fantastic experiance and yet very emotional and sad knowing the massive deaths which occured here. After the tour we headed back towards Times Square to get some food. But we needed cheering up, so we decided to go back to Serendipity 3 again to stuff ourselves in their amazing desserts. I again got the Frozen Hot Chocolate while Amy got Chocolate pudding thing, both very so
