Santa Fe
Centre of Santa Fe We woke up today and packed up our tents and gear into the trailer. Most of us weren’t brave enough to face sharing a shower with all those bugs so we all went without. I was so happy to leave this campsite and after the last couple we were all hoping they wouldn’t get any worse. We got in the van for our drive to check out the city of Santa Fe. We stopped off in Roswell just before lunch to have a look at this famous town. The other trek group arrived and we went into the Roswell museum. It was full of information about aliens and conspiracies but after briefly wondering around the museum we came to realise that it was kind of lame. We looked through the tacky gift shop but didn’t dare waste our money on this trash. There was still a while before we had to meet back at the van so a few of us went to another alien museum which was a little more interesting. It was full of displays and glow in the dark stickers, that’s about as good as it got.
We met back at the van and continued on to
Roswell
A strange alien and UFO musuem in Roswell Santa Fe. We skipped our lunch stop (none of us minded not having ham sandwiches) and headed straight for our campsite. It was a great improvement from the last couple of campsites but still nothing amazing. The ground was hard and rocky which made it difficult to put up our tents. Once they were all up, even if they were in random spots of softer ground, we jumped in the van and went into town to check out Santa Fe. We had a while before meeting back in the center of the park so everyone split up and went exploring. Dave and I went and looked through the shops and bought a couple of tacky souvenir t-shirts then walked around looking for a decent necklace. We did end up buying one each and thought they looked quite good, though when we met with Sara and Lucy they couldn’t stop laughing at us, we decided to ditch them and not tell another soul. Dave also bought a few gifts for family back home and I bought a harmonica. We continued to explore the city of Santa Fe and take some photos of this unusual city then bumped into the other trek

Streets of Santa Fe group at the pub. We sat and had a few drinks while we waited for the rest of the group. Dave also stocked up on some nice vodka for later on tonight. We met our group and walked back to the van and drove back to the campsite.
We made dinner and sat around the sheltered picnic tables. We started up a game of poker and began to have a few drinks. A lot of the group wanted an early night and went to sleep but Dave, Jon, Tyson and I stayed up drinking and playing silly card games. Went the booze started running low, Tyson left, Jon was lured into his trailer for some reason and Dave and I sat by the campfire chatting to Hannah who had woken up. We were up for a while until one-by-one we went to sleep in the early hours of the morning.
