The incredible Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas
Dave woke us up knocking on the door around 6AM in the morning, I helped him out with what he was looking for then went straight back to sleep. Again, this time around 10:15AM, Dave came knocking on the door and woke us up. But this time we had to get up and meet the rest of the group down at Alexis Park. Due to the fires around California the interstates closed so unlucky for us we had to stay an extra night in this amazing city. We quickly walked down to their hotel because we were in a bit of a rush. They had to check out of Alexis Park because Jon only booked that hotel for two nights. For the last night in Las Vegas Jon luckily found another hotel to stay in which was just around the corner. We met the group as they packed their bags into the trailer and we all drive to the new hotel. In the end Hannah, Dave, Sara and I didn’t actually need to be there at all, but Jon told us we did which was a little frustrating. Today the plan was to hang around in some more casinos. The main

objective was that Hannah and I didn’t spend all day together so Dave and I were going to hit the tables together.

Our group slowly followed Jon to go get some lunch but Hannah and I fell behind the others. We turned the corner and suddenly the whole group was no where to be seen. We searched around, went into reception and tried to call Lucy on her mobile but we had no idea where they vanished to. We eventually made our way over to the MGM Grand casino, I guess Hannah and I would end up spending the day together after all. We got to MGM and tried to call Lucy via the public phone but we had no change. We went and bought drinks to get some change from our notes then headed back to the phones. As soon as we put our money in the phone ate it, this was getting really frustrating, we gave up and moved on. Hannah and I went down to the casino and I played on some of the tables, We had a strange urge to start collecting the states on the quarters so I grabbed a souvineer $5 chip and

we went and got $20 worth of quarters.

Next we took the monorail down to the Ventian and walked around to find somewhere we could have lunch. But first we bought six tickets to go see ‘Phantom of the Opera’ tonight, we got some decent seats as well so we were wrapped. Eventually we choose a small Italian restaurant and ordered some lunch. While we waited, we got out the change and began to sort through writing down the states as we found them. After we ate a delicious lunch we jumped in a taxi and went to the Stratosphere. When we got there we hit the tables and did quite well, we were up $50. After I took a $5 chip we went to the cashier and persuaded the cashier to give it to us in change. We paid to go to the top of the tower and were amazed by the spectacular views. We could see the entire strip and all the casinos lined up next to each other which was very impressive. We checked out the crazy rides at the top of the Stratosphere but there was no way we were doing them.
We continued to

have a look around taking photos and got someone to take one of us together then headed back down. We hailed a taxi and made our way back to New York, New York casino to meet the others.

After wandering around searching for everyone we eventually all found each other and went for a ride on the New York, New York rollercoaster. It was absolute madness, a huge rollercoaster. I sat next to Dave, both of us really wanting to get off on the way up. A huge drop took us into another sickening drop then threw us into loops and corkscrews it was awesome fun. We bought a photo from the stand, it was of us screaming like crazy and Min with her head down for some strange reason. We had to rush all the way to the Ventian to see the play tonight. Hannah and I were meeting, Tina, Marcia, Ellaine and Brock there and we had to walk as quickly as we could because it was beginning very soon. We stopped by the M&M’s store and stocked up on chocolates for the show. We finally arrived minutes before it started, gave tickets out and rushed in

to get our seats. We sat down as straight away the show started, couldn’t have timed it any better.

The show was absoulely incredible. The entire theatre was designed just for this show and it did not disappoint. The singing was fantastic, had a great storey and amazing special effects, it even had fireworks, we all loved it. Afterwards we left the Venetian and stopped by a few shops on the way down to a giant casino called Caesars Palace. We had a brief look around and some of us had a gamble and once again took advantage of the unlimited free drinks. Hannah and I were stuffed and so took a taxi back to our room early. We eventually fell asleep, we were to tired.
