Hide and SeekThis is all we saw of the Golden Gate Bridge when we drove through SF.
Shay here, from a hotel room in Missoula, MT. We are relaxing in relative luxury for a night before heading up to Glacier tomorrow. We have to drop the dogs off for a stay at a kennel, since they are not allowed in the park. They are not excited about it, as is evidenced by the fact that they are both pouting on the hotel room floor. I think they can smell the bath water coming, kind of like how you can smell a big storm blowing in on the wind. Sorry we haven't been keeping up with the blog. It's been great getting to see family and friends for the past few weeks, but it doesn't give us much time to log in and upload pics and stuff. And then there was the little mishap with the windshield and a rock - which resulted in a wasted day in Portland waiting for the new windshield to get installed. Okay, not a wasted day entirely - we did get some laundry done while we were hanging out. This delay caused us to miss our ferry to Vashon Island in Tacoma, so our plans got rearranged a bit and we ended up
Bear HarborJust a quick day trip to Bear Harbor - the dogs couldn't go with us, which we didn't know, so we just did a quick hike in and out to get some photos, since they weren't too happy about having to stay
... [more]just driving up into the Cascades and spending the night in a great campground called Wish-Poosh, on Cle Elum Lake. It was beautiful, if a little mosquito-ey (is that a word?) and we had a nice relaxing afternoon and evening there before driving across WA and Idaho to end up in Missoula tonight. So that's the news. I'm going to attempt to put some pics up while I have the use of the hotel's free wireless so you can all see some of what we've been up to. Take care y'all! Oh, by the way, I was playing with the fun photo shop on my computer and did some modifications to a few of the pics. Hope you like them.

...earthquake, that is - last night (Tuesday)...or should I say this morning at 4:41 - off the mouth 8 miles from Petrolia, and 13 miles deep. Zeb called at 8 this morning to see how big it was, and I went on-line to find out. His growing up near Reno didn't let him experience such things! He's fine with it. Nothing fell down, but it was about 10 seconds long.
Am glad that your windshield is repaired, and sorry that you missed the ferry!
I found your detergent by the washer...you probably already know that.
Love, Mama/Claire
Ya know, I have passed that lake numerous times in my formative years, and have never stopped at it. Maybe it was because it was because I was always traveling to or from Wenatchee (when it was so small that it only had 1 Denny's) and wanted to get out of the eastern Washingtonsummer weather.
Glad to see/read you two are okay. Wondering where in the heck you 4 troublemakers were now? All the pics look awesome, can't wait to see more (HINT HINT!). Hope Bela has chilled out and happy to hear Emma G's paws are better. Talk to you sometime.... Audrey
