Morning over Lake McDonald

If you ever have an opportunity to go to Glacier, you simply MUST go.
Kate here...

We have GOBS of pictures from Glacier that we owe you. It was amazing. To give you some perspective, we woke up at 6am the morning we left so that I could get some pictures of the sunrise over Lake McDonald, where we were camped, and I squeezed off 84 shots within 45 minutes (while Shay wondered where I was and packed everything all by herself 0:)...)

Alas, there is no time for uploading pictures at the moment, as our jet-set lifestyle is taking us to the banks of the Missouri River here in North Dakota, where we'll be riverboat camping with friends for the weekend (Hi Gaylene and Jerry!). There may not be much time to put them up on Monday either. As soon as we get back from the river, we're driving with Shay's mom (Hi Lyvon!) up to Lake Metigoshe for a few days.

But, I will get them up soon, promise.

On to other news...

Shay and I are getting hitched!

The details are still percolating, but the commitment ceremony will likely be in late May 2007, and we have our eyes on Zion National Park for the ceremony and nearby Las Vegas for the revelry.

I'm sneaking in one Glacier picture for you, but if I get yelled at for taking too long, I'm blaming you, the picture-hungry masses. :P

More soon...

The Epic Road Trippers
We're Shay and Kate, a couple of 31 year old grrls who live in Atlanta, GA and who are very much in love with each other, travel, and the great outdoors. As of June 12th, 2006, we, our two dogs (Emma and Bela), and our Subaru (packed with all the gear it can carry) are embarking on an epic 10 week road trip around the US. We'll be camping, hiking, backpacking, exploring, and visiting with family and friends. We'll be covering 24 states and over 8000 miles on our journey, so there will be plenty of time to blog away from the passenger seat. Here is a link to a [url=http://www.travelblog... full info

!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations!!! Sorry I've been rotten about writing/commenting, but rest assured that I've been devotedly (devoutly?) following your blog -- and am so happy to hear the good news!!! Can't wait to congratulate you both in person. I'm leaving Pgh for Gainesville this Friday (am currently sitting in a heap of boxes and unpacked junk) and will be all-moved-in before you guys get back to Atlanta. Let's meet up -- in Atlanta, or Gainesville, or somewhere in between -- after you return from your adventures.

YAY
So happy to hear about all of the "hitching." You know we'll be there and Lex is coming out as well... I can't wait to get the full story. Hope all is well. I check this thing basically daily, it just takes me awhile to be able to comment. Later!
