Back into the USA today after an incredible time in Canada, we had a long drive back into America. We packed the van and made for the States. We stopped for lunch at a quiet town next to an old train and museum and had a look around this unusual but interesting quiet part of Canada. We stocked up on booze at the duty free another 10 or so slabs of beer. As we made for the border and went through the passport check, again being asked if we were a church group. But they had a slight problem with Lucy and I. When I took a flight from JFK to LAX they took out my green visa waiver card when they shouldn’t have, Lucy also didn’t have one. So at the border into Montana they asked us a few questions and all was ok, they gave us a new one and made us pay $6 each then let us on my way.

A few hours later we arrived at the campsite and set up our tents. Jon then wanted to take us on a small hike which sounded like a good idea after being stuck in the van most of the day so far. We headed for Swiftcurrent Lake trail which ran around the lake approximately 2.6 miles long. Wasn’t the most amazing hike I’ve ever done, just circled the lake back into the car park. However on the way back we saw a grizzly bear way off in the distance. We stood and watched for a while after everyone could finally see it. The 18x zoom on my camera could only just get a decent shot he was so far away. We made back for the campsite, Elaine and I made dinner then we all once again drank the night away. Jon introduced us to a drinking game where we all made animal noises which was great until some guy told us to shut-up. Stayed up quite late drinking and star-gazing then eventually fell asleep.
