Looking at the heros nominated for CNN 2011 heros I would say that Robin Lim is most heroic. I say this because she provides free prenatal care to Indonesian women. Poor women in Indonesia don't typically get good prenatal care. If they do, it is extremely expensive for them and they are not allowed to take their baby home until they pay all the fees.

Richard ST. Denis is also a hero. He provides people in Mexico with free wheel chairs that change the way they live.

I would nominate Mr. Milkie because he started the Noble network, which help provide urban kids with a good high school education. He is impacting many lives.

I believe we do not study "heros in history". Everyone has a different definition of a hero. Textbooks have important leaders, but you will never find someone like Robin Lim or Mr. Milkie in a history textbook. But the history teacher ultimately decides what he or she will teaches the students.
