This is Marvellous Miami. Actually Florida has been super. Weather is superb. We arrived in the Tampa area and stayed at a campground that was a waterski, wakeboard cable lake. Tons of adults and kids either going rounds and rounds hanging onto a cable in a lake getting towed. Very much like a rope tow in snow skiing. They did jumps and basically got out of the water with arms 6 inches longer, I'm sure. The other lake had a boat or 2 going round and round in circles teaching jump skills etc. Apparently they create alot of World champion water skiiers. It was interesting to see it work. Thats as far as we went. Watching!!
We met up with our friend from Mexico, Chuck in Tampa. Spent some time with him. It was so nice. He has spent the last 4 years as our neighbour on the Street of Dreams in Mexico so it was another mini reunion. Saw the Manatees together. Went out to Clearwater Beach. It was spectacular. Water, water, white sand, warm yeah hoo.
Left Tampa and arrived in Cocoa, Fl in about 3 hours. Visited with Lorraine and Rick Timmins, more Mexico
friends. They were on their way travelling in their coach but Rick had to have surgery so they are still in Cocoa and might be until April, but he is recovering but slowly. Our friends from home, Ed and Anita joined us in Cocoa for 3 nights. It was great fun. I was ready for a home fix and that helped alot. We went off to Kennedy Space center, down to the beach for dinner etc and generally just had a nice time. James and Larry had boughten tickets for the Daytona 500. It cost a fortune but how often are we in Daytona let alone during the Daytona 500. It probably will be one of his life highlights.
We drove from Cocoa to Miami area. Hollywood actually. Just north. We drove down to South Beach one day with our bikes and rode the board walk for miles. It was warm but breezy. Just perfect. Locked our bikes up and had a great lunch on South Beach. The Beach was loaded with beauties. Larry, Karen and I walked down to the water. I turned around and asked where James was. Larry said 'Oh he's hiding up behind the guard
house trying to get a picture of the topless girl.' He was in such a flap he ended up with a video of his shadow walking down the beach, lots of sand but not a lot of boob girl. We actually had boob girl and butt girl. I might have gotten pix but not sure how to zero in on the interesting parts. Yesterday, we drove 100 miles back up North toward Kennedy to see the shuttle. We were 118 miles from Kennedy but we found a perfect spot to see the shuttle go up. It was 1 1/2 hour drive for a 10 second view of the the shuttle but now we can see we saw it on the platform and also saw it going up. Wouldn't have missed it. Monday we leave here, tow our 5th to the storage yard, head to our hotel near the Miami airport and then on Tuesday head to Panama City, Panama.
We are in Hollywood, Fl. We spent yesterday and today down at the beach. It was lovely. A nice board walk with a dedicated bike path, right on the beach. We rented some chaise lounges today and enjoyed the sun.
Even had a Pina Colada on the Beach.
We leave here tomorrow and put our 5th in storage for 2 weeks while we fly to Panama to meet up with Jim and Debbie, our friends from home.
James and Karen are heading to the Keys and then back up the west side of Florida and back toward Mississippi to see her sister and then home to do their taxes. We will miss them when we get back from Panama. It has been a great 4 months with them. We will see them next fall when we all decide what we are doing for the winter.
Things are good at home we hear. Isabelle started skiing last year but Brady was to young. Well he turned 3 in November and look at him go. I think I detect some terror in Marks voice as he's encouraging Brady to Pizza, Brady. That means he needs to put the points of his skis together like a pizza piece in order to slow down. I'm glad I get the video after I know they are home safe and sound. Here is a link:
Probably need to cut and paste
it. bye for now.
