After a busy fun winter, we pulled up stakes on March 28th from Lapenita, Mexico. We travelled out with Dennis and Helen O'Neill. We spent a couple of days in Mazatlan, then did our first Pemex overnight. Pemex is the only gas stations in Mexico. It actually was just fine. Dennis and Helen have 2 great big dogs which love to sleep outside. They would have barked if there had been an issue. Spent our last night in Santa Ana with Anna and Edgar. They are a great Mexican couple that run a very run down campground but have the hearts of gold. I heard a huge group of rv's arrived at Edgar and Anna's in November. They didn't have enough room for them all so Edgar moved them all down to the local Pemex and ... read more

It has been so long since I have written. Lazy, thats all. Had an awsome visit with Mark and Clay in November. Such a treat to have my boys all to ourselves! We ate, drank, saw great stuff and generally had a good time. I had my hammertoes fixed while the guys were here. I had thought I better wait until they went home but their comments were "Yeah go, if you have your toes done, does that mean we get to sit around for a few days". That decided it. My toes are great. When I was home at Christmas I actually bought some close toed shoes that didn't kill my feet. Yeah hoo. Such an easy process. Mike and Margaret Walsh were in Guayabitos for a month over Christmas so had lots of nice ... read more

We left home on Oct 10th after having the whole family for Thanksgiving dinner. We slept in our 5th on Colby Street and then headed out the next morning. We crossed the border with no problem even though we had tons of stuff we were bringing down to Mexico. Larry said he had been talking to the border guard all night in his sleep. Justifying why we had so many drugs, dog kennels, clothes etc. but no questions at all. We travelled that day to Portland and had dinner with Larry's aunt and uncle and cousins. Mary and Elroy are aging rapidly. Glad we stopped. The next day headed out in good weather and got to Mesa, Az on Thursday afternoon. Headed to Mesa Regal and were greeted by James, Karen and Chuck, our friends ... read more

Just one more month until we hit the road again. Can't wait. We are off to Mexico. Meeting up with a caravan in Ajo, Arizona on October 25 or 26th, then heading down and should arrive in LaPenita on November 1st. There are so many good causes in Mexico for our town, our school kids, our mamas recovering from breast cancer and our old people that are desperate for glasses. Please see the list below: ITEMS TO BRING DOWN While some items can be purchased in Mexico, others are very hard to buy or very expensive. RVers are lucky in that we can bring things with us you can't get on a plane. We have been so fortunate to help and give pleasure to so many. We need people to bring items that are not easy ... read more

Here we are in enjoyable Edmonton where it is cold and winter. We left Mesa on April 6th and drove north through Nevada, Idaho and Montana to reach the Alberta border. Drove the second day in swirling snow which started to settle in Dillon, Montana. It was time to stop and we decided we were not going to out run the snow storm that was coming in. Settled into a campground and woke up the next morning to snow on the ground and a blizzard outside. We just stayed put. Made the best of our day by having a cocktail party for the other 4 units sitting out the storm. Very enjoyable. All were from the Alberta area. Ended up going for dinner with new Red Deer friends and travelled the next day with them to ... read more

Back in Mesa,Az yesterday. Greeted by Mexico friends that were here in the Fall, went to Mexico for the winter and then back here for a little more R&R. Wonderful to see old friends. Shared dinner with them and lots of news from Mexico. We left Key West and travelled back up to more north in Florida. We headed off to Disney World. We feel like we have done Florida now but have never set foot in Disney World. We bit the bullet and camped in Disney World at Fort Wilderness. ($115 per night) walked a couple of minutes and a bus to take us to Epcot. We chose Epcot for our 2 days because it seemed more adult oriented and seemed like somewhere you might not go if we came back with grand kids. It ... read more

Panama has been wonderful. We got our 5th into storage on Feb 28th, spent the night at a hotel near the Miami airport. The next morning we flew out to Panama City. It was a great flight. Just 2 1/2 hours and no time change. Piece of cake. Our B&B host in Panama had her Taxi favourite pick us up at the Panama airport. He was a fun guy. He spoke pretty good english. He dropped us off at our B&B, took the hostess grocery shopping and came back and picked up Larry and I and another couple in our B&B and took us to a great dinner place. Before going to dinner he took all of us to the store so I could buy a cell phone. He was great. Interpreted for me, set it ... read more

February 25, 2001 This is Marvellous Miami. Actually Florida has been super. Weather is superb. We arrived in the Tampa area and stayed at a campground that was a waterski, wakeboard cable lake. Tons of adults and kids either going rounds and rounds hanging onto a cable in a lake getting towed. Very much like a rope tow in snow skiing. They did jumps and basically got out of the water with arms 6 inches longer, I'm sure. The other lake had a boat or 2 going round and round in circles teaching jump skills etc. Apparently they create alot of World champion water skiiers. It was interesting to see it work. Thats as far as we went. Watching!! We met up with our friend from Mexico, Chuck in Tampa. Spent some time with him. It ... read more

Hi Y'all!! It is Feb 6th, 7am and the thermometer says -2.7C (27F) so as you can hear nothing weather wise has improved. Pulled into Bayou Segnette State Park, New Orleans on Thursday in a sleet rain. By now, it is just oh well, it will pass. I started out being such a whiner but that got old real quick and whining did nothing to the weather. Spent a couple of nights in Corpus Christi. Went on the Lexington aircraft carrier and toured another Padre Island. Huge long sandy beach, wild wind etc. CC is a beautiful city. There is so much water and very spectacular. Left CC and travelled to Galveston, Texas. All these places are just about a 4 hour drive from each other so we are really just hopping across the southern US. ... read more

Hi all, I can't be homesick these days, it feels just like home. The morning in San Antonio, Texas it was 33.7F when I got up and at home, it looks like it is about 34F. Not what I bargained for a winter vacation. Sure not like Mexico but I won't go there. San Antonio was a farse actually. Went downtown yesterday to do the Riverwalk in the 3C weather. It was closed as were most of the restaurants along the walk. I guess once a year they empty the river for cleaning and thats what was happening. Went on a nice and warm trolley ride and saw the sites around SA. Also, saw the Alamo. It was partially in and partially out. We dressed in every layer we could find around our 5th. I actually ... read more
