Lulu them & her new hat!
What a perfect day for a perfect reunion. The sun was shining, a warm breeze floated through the towering, swaying palm trees....picture perfect. We eagerly waited in anticipation for the arrival of Cory's room-mate from college, Mike, and his lovely wife, MJ. Yahoo.....they are here! And bearing gifts besides. Much too kind and generous. Cory & I each now have our own huge, chocolate Easter Bunny.....yum, yum....my chocolate addiction will be fulfilled! They are called "Buddy" & "Sweetie"......aawwww. Funny birthday cards....for each of us....gave us a good laugh. We'll keep them to reread while devouring our savory bunnies (sorry Buddy & Sweetie but you are going down!)...hoping again that laughter will burn a few calories. Hah! And just wait until you see the next special gift. With her very skillful talent, MJ crocheted a new, lovely, stylish hat for Lulu. A true beauty....both the hat & Lulu. She suggested that maybe Lulu could share wearing the hat with me. She better....but I can see it won't be easy prying it off her big head. She put it right on and there it has stayed! She seems a little selfish. Thank you, thank you, thank you, MJ & Mike. You are both

so thoughtful. Mike and Cory had been Freshmen room-mates at the University of Buffalo. Each went their own way and many years passed before they made contact again. One night, a few years ago, Cory was passing time on our home computer. Just for the heck of it he searched the name: Mike DeGaro. Several popped up. Taking a chance, he sent a message to one asking if had been his room-mate. Oh, lucky day.....Mike answered and it was him! A lasting correspondence evolved from there. Mike and his wife, MJ,and family had left the Johnstown, NY area and settled in Orlando, Florida.....close to the vicinity of our campground. Oh, wow...another lucky day. These past few years, Mike and MJ have come to see us at Tropical Palms. The memories and chatter flood back to the years 1962-63 while we were students at UB. The reminiscence is fun. We were young and wild then....enough said. Mike reminded me he was with Cory that life-changing day when Cory threw his autographed bun at me in the student dining hall. A true eye witness to this clever encounter. Who would have believed a brief bun encounter would have brought us to today?

Friends together.....
Miracles never cease.....yippee! Our afternoon together passed too quickly as we headed off to dinner. Carrabba's Italian Grill was the choice. Too good and too much. The best part of the meal was being with our good friends. You can never laugh too much! Our reunion day ended at Old Town. The Saturday Night Car Show was going on. I think guys appreciate strolling around the old cars more than gals....as least that goes for me. They are pretty but unless you can take a ride in them, I loose interest quickly. Fortunately, MJ & I could sit on a bench and visit. We parted with the promise that next year we will get together more than once. We cherish these special reunions with our dear friends. It means so much to us to have good friends and lasting friendships....forever. See you in 2015 Mike & MJ. Stay well & stay in touch!
