Visiting with Linda
My first morning here at Jonathan Dickinson was cool and windy. We went for a walk to the river to make sure it was still there. It is just up the road a little and Oscar enjoyed all the new smells. It was so windy that I didn't see one bird, or anything else for that matter.
I came back to the camper and had breakfast and spent some time with Oscar because I was going out at 2:30 to meet my friend Linda who was in our wedding 51 years ago. So Oscar got an early dinner and I was off to West Palm Beach to Linda's house and from there we went to have a message. OH, it was just delightful! Back at the house to regroup and comb our hair and we went to Outback Steak House for dinner. Linda had lobster tail and filet and I had a 1/2 rack of ribs, both of which were delicious. We returned to Linda's house and I left right away to rescue Oscar from his confinement. When I got back he was so asleep he didn't even get up to say
HI. So much for being missed.
Today Linda and I had plans to go to Lake Worth and see their street painting festival. Some of the art work was painted, some was done with chalk and some a combination of both. There were some incredible artists there and I have captured a few in pictures. It was very hot in the sun (sorry you northerners) so we tried to stay in the shade as best we could. We did manage to have an ice cream cone that just hit the spot and a shady seat to enjoy it. We were there for a couple of hours til our feet said enough and our bellies said lunch. There were many venders there with all kinds of food but Linda knew this place the next town south that had a restaurant right on the beach, so how could I say no to that.
When we got there there was a 45 min wait, no surprise, so we waited looking out at the sea and catching up on all those years we missed. When our table was ready, it was just delightful sitting in the shade, in
the ocean breeze with a view of the incredible sea. I had catch of the day which was Mahi Mahi, sweet potato fries and a salad. Linda had a Greek Salad with shrimp and both were incredible. No wonder there was a wait.
We drove around Palm Beach to see the unbelievable homes along the ocean, their back yards are the intercostal waterway. I was driving so there are no pictures but just imagine the most decadent houses and double it. WOW
It was time to head back home so I dropped Linda off and rescued Oscar again, just in time for his dinner. He was at the door waiting for me telling me it was dinner time. We then went for a walk, sat and read my book with the boy on my lap, then another walk.
Now it's time for resting and blog then hopefully I can find a PBS station to see Downton Abbey. I missed last week, awful.
