..... Continued from last night.....We arrived at The Patio Cafe not really sure if this is the place. It looks like a private gathering, tables set up on blacktop. Where is the restaurant? We see a Food Truck parked behind some shrubs....at this point the hostess has approached us, so we decide to "go for the experience". The guest before us brought his two huge yellow Labradors in with him. He had to practically choke the one dog that tried to run away. Ken told the hostess not to sit us near the dogs. She looked offended. I personally think it is cruel to bring dogs to a restaurant and expect them to not want to join in and partake. They can smell all the yummy food better than we can. They are expected to sit under or near the table and not even ask for food. I'd like to see you do that. They had a keyboard player that fancied himself like Elton John playing live music. The owner told us he was the winner of "Columbia's Got Talent". He was ok, the food was pricey and just ok but an interesting experience. We walked to out hotel, another warm
breezy night. After we got back we read a little and were ready for bed; a long fun day.
Ken woke up around 6:30 am and walked down to Starbucks and then walked along the beach. He came back as I was waking up. I threw on some clothes and we walked to Starbucks and got lattes, oj and croissants. We crossed the street to the beach, took off our flip flops and walked in the water. Another beautiful sunny day. Already a busy day on A1A, there are joggers, mommies pushing strollers, skaters. The path is right along the ocean. Time to go take a shower and pack up. We said goodbye to Maggie and got in the shuttle van. There was another couple in the van headed to the airport. They had just come off a 10 day southern Caribbean cruise and had a fun time. They were headed back to Long Island (the north side-where the real people live). We shared Caribbean port stories then said goodbye as they were dropped off at the airport. With that Annie and Bobbie called! They were on their bus headed to the ship. I said we are too! As we
were in line to get on board, we saw them. We were in different lines (they are Preferred customers). We lost track of them but as we were unlocking our room which is right next to them they came walking down the hall!! We checked out our room (our luggage is not here yet) and headed upstairs for lunch. We sat outside and caught up on our travels and enjoyed a leisurely lunch with beers and cosmos. Annie and I went up to the spa for a tour. It's a really beautiful spa. At one point we were taken to a room with large heated tiled lounges. They told us to try them out. Annie and I did and they were so uncomfortable...made of concrete. Annie, being so petite had trouble getting out. I signed up for a few massages and we signed up to win $500 in free spa services; we have to be back at 5:15 when they do the drawing. We returned to where the guys were; they wondered where we were. Ken went to the Churchill Lounge to see if there was any baseball on TV. It was closed but of course he called 'people' until someone came and opened it. Bobbie joined him, while Annie and I sat on the deck for the sail away. Annie and I then had a consultation to see what kind of help we could get for our aging faces-ha ha! For a few $1000 they can make us younger! Time for dinner and Annie and I are a few minutes late- the guys are already seated. We are so fortunate to have our own table for four. Annie and I got the salmon; Bobbie and Kenny got the prime rib; it was ok, not great. We were all so tired, after walking the shops, we headed to our rooms. I blogged and Kenny read.
