Never forget how bare it was out there and we had lunch there. We made tuna sandwiches and they dried out before we could eat them. It was so hot there and we saw all these Indian ladies dressed in full gard and thought how can they live like this. I need my swamp cooler! Linda |

My Dad and John made a horse back trip up to rainbow bridge when John was only 10 years old. Amazing to see your pictures and compare them to what Dad shot all those years ago. | 13th July 2009 LINDA PTAK | SQUIRRELS - From: Grand Canyon when my husband and I were doing a road trip up in Northern Ca, we were at this one zoo, we got there a little early and we were sitting at a picnic table and all these black squirres were around and we started feeding them the orange cheetos and before you knew it they all had orange smiles! It was the funniest thing to see. If you get a chance go thru the painted desert--it really is beautiful at the end of the day. I really enjoy ready your blog---love those road trips |

| 8th July 2009 Gloria | Cottonwood - From: On the road Enjoy the drive to Cottonwood, especially once you pass the heavy road construction! There are several interesting spots to explore in the area. I would recommend my favorite jewelry shop in Cottonwood; however, the shop was forced to close last year. May you enjoy your entire road trip and time away from Tucson/Oro Valley. I am looking forward to learning about the new adventures ya'll encounter! Until then, I'll be hanging out in the heat ... Let's face it, better not to be on that Eurostar when the fire was on, don't you agree? Whatever way you get to Paris, doesn't matter. ENJOY when you are there. The only problems are the rude waiters in cafes. Be rude back to them! By the time you receive this, you will be on your way, so have fun all of you, and relax. Thats the way it works MargieAnn, you roll with the road blocks when traveling and find another route! It makes it more entertaining. One word of caution; while on the overnight train to Rome, please have Ken remove his belt and use it to secure the doors shut if you are in a sleeper. This will help deture any theives looking to steal valuables and or passports. Sleep with your passport on your person!! Wishing you a safe and memorable passage!!
