Heading to California for the next week. I flew in from Atlanta to Tucson last night. As an update, I am still working at Children's Healthcare in Atlanta. I fly there every other week and work from 'home' the week I am not there. 'Home' is wherever I am with Ken. We have stayed in Tucson since Thanksgiving so we are feeling very anxious to get back out there! Ken has been getting some needed chores done at the house and we have been enjoying the glorious winter in the desert.
As usual my flight is late out of Atlanta. It's been a horrible winter in Atlanta and as I head to the airport it is 37 degrees and raining. The most miserable kind of weather. I try to prepare my attitude as I approach the airport. I tell myself I am not going to let stupid people affect me. Lately flying has gotten to me...not the flying-I love that part- just the people- rude, selfish and most of all smelly.
I have TSA Precheck so getting through Security is a breeze. I stop at a 'Fresh' restaurant and pick up grilled salmon, greens and wheat berry rice-no dressing
or sauce. I find that I love taking on a 'dinner' on board. I wait until the Flight Attendants begin serving beverages, sanitize my tray, put a napkin (my own little tablecloth) on and order a glass of red wine., put my headphones on and listen to my tunes. I'm so excited because no one is sitting next to me. It's not First Class but it's the next best thing.
The flight was long but good and Ken picked me up at the airport. He has been busy all week getting the RV ready for our trip.
We are going to Temecula, California for the annual Rod Run. http://temeculaevents.org. Our good friends Larry and Henna have their RV and are joining us. We got to our house about 11 pm. I had to open 2 packages that had arrived in my absence: a new dress and shoes for Andy and Amanda's wedding this month. I'm worried the dress won't fit because I ordered a size smaller than my 'usual', but I have lost 35 lbs since September. It fits and I love it and twirl around like a little girl!! Ok, it's time to go to bed!
I read a little because I need to unwind but quickly put my book down and turn the light off. I don't even remember what I read. The next thing I know Ken is waking me up saying he is getting in the shower. He has kindly brought me a glass of OJ. After my shower, I gather some last minute items, warm up some previously purchased Starbucks Spinach Feta Breakfast wraps and we head out. We meet Larry and Henna at the Starbucks in Fry's on Tangerine for some coffee. We are on time - it's 7 am.
It's a beautiful sunny day, clear blue sky, 68 degrees- good to see you sunshine. We are heading west on I-8. The yellow wildflowers are blooming- it's a blessed day
