Yankee's Game
Here's us three (and my mom taking the picture) at Yankee's Stadium Katherine here--Yesterday was non-stop activity. We started the day at the Circle Line which is a huge boat that goes all the way around Manhattan. A tour guide points out all the buildings and areas on the island as well as New Jersey, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and all surrounding islands. By the way, the tour is three hours and starts at 9:30. We left Connecticut at 7:05 and got to the pier at 8:30 since it is a popular tour and may have long lines. But we were about the second people there so we didn't really need to worry about that. It was a really great tour and we got about a million and five pictures between me and my mom. Right after the tour, we walked down 42nd to meet Phil for lunch. We stopped at a cafe in Bryant Park and had some time to rest before our next stop on the agenda. After eating lunch we walked all the way down 42nd to go to the UN. Basically we walked from one side of the island to the other with a break in between. When we got to the UN we took a tour of
Circle Line Tour
We saw all the boroughs and surrounding islands of Manhattan the chambers and pieces of art. It was really interesting and the art was beautiful. Right after the tour and looking in the gift shop we walked backdown 42nd to go to the Grand Central Station. We took the 4 to 161st street/Yankee Stadium Uptown to the Bronx. That was an amazing game to be at. The crowd is so involved with the game, almost as if they were on the field too. We were about 20 rows up with really great seats so we could see all the action. We got a lot of pictures there too but most of mine were zoomed in on Jeter and ARod. We stayed all 8 innings to see the pitcher Clemens get his 350th win and the Yankees beat the Twins 5-1. After the game all 53,000 people walked down the blocked streets like it was a parade. Most got right on the subway to beat the crowds. But seeing how crowded it was, we decided just to walk to the next subway station so it wouldn't be that crowded. So we walked from 161st to 149th to the stop and navigated ourselves back onto the 4 Downtown to Lexington/Grand Central. Phil
UN
Here are the flags of participating countries (192 in all). You can't really tell, but on either side of the building, there are no windows. This is so no one would fight over corner offices because there are none. Just trying to keep the peace. picked us up outside of the station at 11:30 and we got to Stamford by about 12:30. We finally got to sleep at about 1. I would have made this a lot more descriptive, and I'll probably go back later to make it funnier and more detailed, but right now we're off for more excitement in the city. We're leaving soon so the boys can go do their own thing while my mom, Mary, and I go shopping. More later!
