Rockies
About an hour drive south of Aspen is a camping area with the most breath taking scenery.Arrived in Denver after a 170 mile journey - which was a walk in the park after the previous two days. Could not believe how quite Denver is, maybe everyone traveled away for the Holiday celebrations. Found a hotel in downtown Denver called the Hotel Monaco where we booked in for 2 days. Very plush place, went to Chili's for some food then a walk around the place. Walked around 16th Street mall towards the Train station and then up to find a bar, where a MASSIVE thunderstorm hit us. We had to hide under some shelter for around 30 minutes laughing at the way the locals were taking no notice at the marble sized hail hitting the ground. Got back then I talked Rob into going out for some beers around 9:00 p.m. - we were back by 10:00 p.m. after I was hit by the two day drive previously.
