I am a Englishman that has been living in New York for the past 2 years with my long term partner. I have a drive and ambition to see the world. I was lucky as my parents took me to some extraordinary places when I was young which truly gave me a fire to see as much of this beautiful planet as I can.

Padstow is a really lovely Cornish town that is also known as Padstein due to the control that famous T.V chef Rick Stein has over his home town. He owns a hotel, a few restaurants, the chip shop on the seafront and a couple of other things their. I love to drive to Padstow from St Ives up the coast it had some really beautiful beaches that you pass and the scenery is everything you want from a Cornish coast. The houses there like most Cornish villages and towns are made from Cornish stone and are really beautiful. The town has a lovely harbor with many small shops surrounding that area where you can go and buy some lovely Toffee, Fudge, Shortbread, Sweets and gifts. It is not tacky like many seaside resorts can be and ... read more

To go home and see my family is always something exciting and a pleasure that I look forward to all year round. I love going back to see my Mum, Dad, Sister and our dog Dolly. This time round we arranged that we would go to my families house in Cornwall for a week to spend some time in the English riviera where there are wonderful beaches and some great seafood. The house is situated in a place called Carbis Bay that is connecting to the seaside town of St Ives that was made famous back in the Victorian times as a holiday resort. It is a picturesque town with many Fisherman stone cottages and small winding roads. It is a place that I hold dearly in my heart and love to go visit every time ... read more

This is the final chapter of this epic journey. We left Virginia beach early in the morning with thoughts that we might stop at Washington DC and have a look around the capital. This was changed after a phone call from my girlfriend asking for me to come home as I have been away too long - which was fair I think. So we drove all the way through and back to Brooklyn where I live. The journey itself was really good if not long - just over eight hours - the Chesapeake Bay Bridge was a fantastic drive and I would say it is a must if it is a sunny day. Then on into Maryland which was very lush and good to see. The other states passed through were Delaware and New Jersey until ... read more

This was the longest journey of the whole trip easily. We traveled from Denver all the way through Kansas (very dull) and Missouri (dullish) Kentucky (good) and West Virginia (lovely) until we got to Virginia Beach. We decided on this location as we wanted a beach location that was drivable to New York. Virginia beach is a classic tourist hot spot some places a bit tacky but the beach was great and surrounding areas really lovely. What was a surprise is that I did not know that this area is one of the biggest American Air Forces facilities in the world. When you are on the beach you have fighter jets flying over the top - they are very loud and sometime quite annoying so be warned. We stayed for two nights and had a couple ... read more

We arrived in Denver after leaving Grand Canyon National park and traveling up through south Colorado. Some of the most lush farm land I have ever seen is situated in South Colorado and would be any farmers dream to live there. With mountains in the background and wondrous lush green fields with woodland, it is no surprise that this land is prime retail area. This was the second time I made my visit to Denver and it was a much better experience. This was because it was not a ghost town this time round and we had a good couple of nights out downtown. We were back in the city to drop one of us off so he could fly back to London. The big 50 foot Blue Bear peering into a massive building was a ... read more

“Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona. Not all holes, or games, are created equal.” George F. Wills. How I would describe this wonder is a simple couple of words - "breath taking". I have seen the wonders of the Pyramids and Ayres Rock (Uluru) but they are truly put to the back after going to the Grand Canyon. What took me is the sheer size of the Canyon (around 277 miles long). The drive from Vegas to the Grand Canyon via Hoover Dam (disappointing) took around six hours. We stayed in a Native American owned hotel in Tusayan which is about 15 minute drive from the south rim. It was a good hotel and the restaurants in the small town were quite good ... read more

The journey from Solana Beach to Las Vegas was a great drive if you like to drive through deserts. It was hot in San Diego about 90f but once we reached the Mojave Desert it had reached to 117f which was unbelievably hot. A quick tip is to either travel at night or if you do travel during the day then to carry a liter (minimum) of water with you and to let some air out of your tires (due to heat air will expand and could pop a tire). The drive from San Diego to Vegas took about five hours. I would recommend to anyone to have a quick stop at one of the rest areas and take a step out of the car to truly experience that kind of heart. Truly unbelievable. We decided ... read more

If you like higher class beachfront living then San Diego is the place to be. I really enjoyed my few days in this city as it has an offer of all things Cali - good food, fabulous beaches, amazing sights and awesome weather. I places I went to and would recommend would be the Zoo as it has a huge diverse amount of species and the weather is great to go and walk around and enjoy. Sea World is also a must as I found it most exhilarating and great fun if you have a young family especially. U.S.S Midway which is a brilliant museum set on a aircraft carrier, it has a huge amount of brilliant planes and you get to walk around the carrier which is an experience, also a fitting touch is that ... read more

After leaving San Francisco we took route 1 or the pacific drive (other name) down towards Los Angeles. The drive itself was very scenic but be warned the road snakes hugely for hundreds of miles so if you want an easy drive or on a strict time frame then do just twenty miles or so and get back on the interstate as it would take the whole day to travel a few hundred miles. I have been to L.A before on business a couple of times and have never really been impressed. I find the city not very nice at all, with a huge amount of cars on the road and a lack of class. I know that sounds stupid but it is the complete polar opposite to my home town New York. My two buddies ... read more

San Francisco is my favourite city after New York, with its very European like feel. The people are polite and the sights are great, the climate is lovely in the summer time. I would certainly think about moving there in later life. Some great sights that are a must. You have to walk the Golden Gate bridge and take the cruise of the bay too. If you want to go on a tour of Alcatraz make sure you book online at least three days previously as you can not just walk up and buy them!!! A visit to the Fisherman's Wharf is needed even though it is a tourist trap so get ready to pay that little bit extra. It is the area where street entertainers are and it is always bustling with tourists. Just a ... read more
