Seen driving down from Oregon The Napa Valley is one place we always enjoy. On the advice of a friend in Oregon who also has a large motorhome, we took a back road to the Valley from California 101. It was a rather hairy ride, as the road was narrow and there were sharp switchbacks and low-hanging branches. We were lucky not to scratch the bus. Oops, we forgot to check the CA DOT map of restricted routes. Had we been stopped, the fine could have been up to $700. Dodged a bullet there…. We checked out a few wineries out in the Healdsburg area, which we hadn't been to before.

We became acquainted with a very nice couple, Jerry and Sherri H., who are considering the purchase of a motorhome similar to ours. They graciously invited us to spend a couple of days at their beautiful Carmel home and we were treated to a wonderful visit, while we discussed all the ins and outs of RV'ing and told lots of stories.
