Golden Gate Bridge to the Strip

Walking around San Fransisco took me back to my childhood years when I used to enjoy the hilarious antics from the crew of full house (Peter would like to point out that he would never watch full house and if he ever did he is sure that he would not find their antics hilarious in the slightest). San Fransisco is certainly an idyllic place; the Golden Gate bridge is instantly recognisable; the escape stories from Alcatraz prison capture your imagination; and sitting down eating fish and chips whilst watching the goings on of an entire sea lion colony in the middle of a city is an experience.
Our first day in San Fransisco was spent going out on a ferry trip to the world famous Alcatraz prison.
We then decided to go and have some fish and chips by the waters edge. Whilst we were eating we could hear a large group of dogs barking, we decided that if a large group of dogs were going crazy we should of course go closer to them. Only to discover a very large group of sea lions that had taken over one of the peirs. Apparently a few years ago they were redeveloping the dock area when a few sea lions arrived and they have been there ever since.
In order to experience the Golden gate bridge we decided to hire a bike and ride along the foreshore and onto the bridge. It was a great ride with some very inspiring views along the way. We got about half way across the bridge when Triona started relising how high up we were, how low the barrier was and how strong the wind was- hence we turned back.

After San Fransisco we headed for Fabulous Las Vegas!! Steping off the plane at Las Vegas airport we were overcome with Elvis music and slot machines. It was only the beginning!!
After walking down the strip we quickly relised that we had wasted a lot of time and money attempting to visit lots of interesting places around the world. We should have just gone to Vegas which contains a minature Rome (at Cesars Palace), Venice (at the Venician), Egypt (at the Luxor) , Paris (at the Eiffel tower), a tropical island (at treasure island) and New York (at New York New York- which we have not been to but now feel that we dont have to go...)
The casions were worlds within themselves.
We decided to go and see a show. Triona was very upset because she missed out on seeing Bette Middler- much to Petes relief who made some comment about her going and hanging out with his mum. In the end we went to a Circ de Soleil show called Myster which was amazing. At the time that we were there, 5 Circ De Soleil shows were playing- so we had a lot of choice.

We also went on a day trip to the Grand canyon. Unfortunately as our time here was very limited we were unable to spend more than a few hours at the Canyon. After visiting it we have decided that we will definetly have to return so that we can hike in and out of the canyon. The scale of the Grand Canyon is absolutely indiscribable. When you visit it you truly feel small. It is something that has to be seen to be believed.

It was unfortunate that we were not able to spend more time in the USA as there are a lot of places that we still want to see. We were amazed at

how friendly people in the states were and also about how crazy they go over the election.
