We left the Verde Valley on January 2nd after a record breaking snowstorm. We rented in Happy Trails RV Resort in Surprise, which is NW of Phoenix. Everyone here is so friendly a walk around the block can take an hour because of all the friendly people out and about...and the doggies!
We're renting from our neighbors, Claire and Rett Porter, who own both lots. Claire invited me to join Lady Putters. We putt at the Eagle Golf Course (inside Happy Trails but now owned by someone else.) We putt 18 holes set up on one green by the golf course. We laugh and yak it up for about an hour! We get jewelry (see Claire's hat in the pic below) for holes-in-one, etc. This is a national group. So once a week I am forced to leave the pickleball courts and go have some other fun. Thank you Claire!
Happy Trails hosted a pickleball tournament in January. (500 participants.) Requests went out for people to be IT support and Tom thought I should volunteer so I could meet people. So I did. Little did I know that this tournament was all run on computers and had two big
screens rented from Pickleball USA to display all the brackets. Shocking myself, I didn't let the IT team down. Yes I can reboot the printer and reconnect the internet!
In March we bought an RV lot here. It's time for us to have a safe landing spot in case life takes a sharp turn. We don't move into it until the end of April because the aluminum roof has to be raised so our motorhome can fit under it. Next blog we'll have some pictures!
Tom has been doing real well this winter. No flu' . He says he's becoming Howard Hughes as he avoids crowds to avoid germs. Unfortunately he has to be on oxygen 24/7 now but he's in good spirits. He started pulmonary rehab a few weeks ago and has progressed to where he can now use Happy Trails Fitness Center.
To celebrate Spring there was a "fun pickleball" tournament a few weeks ago. I joined the Red Hots team. Each team had to have beginners, middle players and top ranked. It was a fun day and my team won third place. My first medal for anything in my life I might add. Tom
is so tired of hearing it! HA! Happy Easter Ya'll! (5 pictures below)

Yea!! It looks really neat and we are happy you found a place to park that you enjoy so much. It is great that Tom is doing better with his therapy and you are right into park activities. It is fantastic to be busy and having fun. Love and Hugs, Bruce and Cheryl
