LET THE HIKE BEGIN... SEUFER6: DESTINATION: SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA
The next 6 days basically consisted of getting up and exercising, enjoying the continental breakfast, school work, hot tubbing, lots of swimming, an occassional hike and going out to dinner. We enjoyed the easy life for the last 6 days. Some highlights are listed below.
On Tuesday, February 13, after our usual morning routine of working out, eating breakfast at the clubhouse, we all got ready, loaded up in the minivan and headed to Casa Grande, Arizona, back to the first RV park (Casita Verde) we stayed at while we had the motor home. We were there to look at a park model that is for sale for Grandma and Grandpa Bufmack. After talking at length with the owners, we decided this would be a great investment for grandma and grandpa, signed all the necessary papers and took lots of pictures for grandma and grandpa to look at. We are excited that they will be able to return to Arizona, which they did for so many years when they owned their 5th wheel. The nice thing about the park model, is it stays right in the park, so it won't be so much work for

UP THEY GO... grandma and grandpa. Since they are both retired they can head to Casa Grande for the long winter and enjoy summer all year. We are excited for them.
Wednesday, February 14--Happy Valentine's Day! After doing our usual morning thing, we all got ready, headed to Grimaldi's Pizza for lunch. Once again, we savored this delicious New York style pizza. If you are ever in the Scottsdale area, you must eat at this pizza restaurant, you won't be disappointed. Then the kids found a neat park, played for a while on the equipment, rolled down the grassy hill many times, then we browsed some neat boutiques, drove back to the villa, dropped Tanner, Ty, Emma and Lilly off. Jessica and I were going to a different shopping mall called Kierland on Scottsdale Road. We enjoyed going in all of the outside shops looking at all the neat things. Back to the villa with valentine gifts for all. Ty and I changed into nice clothes and headed to dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel across the street for a nice romantic 5 course meal. Jessica babysat and did a magnificent job. We all went hot tubbing, then to bed.

ON TOP OF THE WORLD!!! February 15-Friday February 16
Ty woke up early and flew back to Denver today for the night. He had some business to attend to. He will return later tomorrow night. So it was just me and the kids. I took advantage of the early morning again by working on the blog, walking down to the clubhouse to get an early morning workout. When I returned to the villa all the kids were still asleep, so I jotted down a few lesson plans for Jessica and Tanner to work on the next 2 days while Ty is gone. All 4 kids woke up, we made breakfast at the villa, worked on school work for 4 hours, then all headed to the pool. During one break from school, Jessica and Tanner decided to get some exercise by hiking up the rocky mountain outside our back door. On the top of the mountain they could see the whole town of Scottsdale, the view was awesome. It was a nice hot day and swimming was just what we needed after doing so much school work. The kids met some new friends from San Diego. Their dad was a retired pro baseball player, who played

EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE HIKERS TO RETURN. 1 year for the Rockies, so that was cool, especially to Tanner. The kids and their new friends made up all kinds of neat pool games. Back to the villa in the late afternoon. Ate a great pasta dinner, took baths and went to bed. We did the same exact thing on Friday. We could get used to this life of swimming every afternoon after 3-4 hours of school work. Ty didn't return back to the villa until late Friday night after we were all sound asleep.

This would be our last full day in Scottsdale. We all did our usual workout, breakfast and decided that we would make the hike up to Pinnacle Peak which is famous in these parts. What a great hike it was too, with Lilly in the baby bjourne we all hiked the windy dirt road to the top, about 2 miles with all the kids. The view was spectacular at the top. It was amazing how incredibly busy this hike was, but it was Saturday and the day was beautiful. We spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool. The pool was absolutely packed because of the long

DOWN THEY COME... Presidents Day weekend, families took advantage of that. The day was very warm, the kids had tons of fun at the pool making new friends and playing pool baseball. At one point the hot tub was like the kiddie pool, because every small and big child was in it at one time. Ty and Tanner decided to golf 9 holes after swimming. While they did that, Emma and Lilly took a nap, while I started packing for our trip back to Colorado tomorrow. After the boys got home, we decided to take the kids to Greesewood Flats to enjoy some juicy hamburgers. When we got their, the place was packed. Remember, this is a huge outdoor bar/restaurant, and obviously a popular one too. We waited 45 minutes in line to order dinner, searched down a picnic table by a nice warm fire pit, listened to some great live music, roasted marshmallows, and took in the atmosphere of this neat place. What a fun last night we all had in Scottsdale. Back to the villa to pack and get a good nights rest before the flight home.

DOWN THEY COME... headed back to the villa to get the kids and luggage loaded in the car. We stopped at the clubhouse for a quick breakfast and then to the Phoenix airport to fly back to Colorado for a few days. What a fantastic time we had in Scottsdale and have decided this is one of our favorite places and we hope to return many more times. Our flight went great, we were back in Denver by 2:30pm and home by 4:00pm, where we will get caught up on the mail, laundry, and pack for our next journey to the east coast. We fly out to Providence, Rhode Island Wednesday morning. We will be staying 2 full weeks in New Port, Rhode Island and we are hoping to see my brother Kevin and his family a lot while we are there. They live in Mystic, Connecticut and we are hoping they aren't too far from Newport. We can't wait to see Boston, New York City and Washington DC......
