Good afternoon all,

It's Tuesday, we are in Sitka, and I'm sitting in Wells Fargo Bank doing my Blog. Free Wifi in Sitka, even on the street. Susan is shopping and this seemed like a great time to catch up. A Russian Orthodox church dominates the skyline of Sitka although there are not many big places in Sitka. (I'm having troube uploading some pictures so will try to include them in my next blog.

Sitka was the ancestral home fo the Tlingit Indian Nation. Russians came at the end of the 18th century and then eventually sold Alaska to the US in 1867 for $7.2 million in gold. From 1867-1912, Sitka was the capital of Alaska.

Weather in Sitka this morning is misting rain, about 55 degrees but pleasant. We tendered in from the boat to a small harbor, it's a pretty little town. We had low clouds below the mountain motoring in. I'll try to include some pictures perhaps in my next blog from Victoria on Thursday. Although Victoria is a beautiful city which deserves its own pictures, so we'll see.

We have a wine and cheese art party from 4-5 and Cuisine from around the World tonight in the main dining room. We won a bottle of champagne yesterday at the art auction so we'll have champagne for dinner. Happy bubbles to you all.
