Endless BeachEndless BeachEndless Beach

Our hotel was at the bottom end of the beach. You can see the lagoon behind, and how narrow the strip is!
We had our last three quiet, beautiful days of sun and waves in Pie de la Cuesta...

It is surprising that Pie de la Cuesta is not more touristy. It started out as a fishing village, which then became a place to eat a fresh fish dinner in palapas on the beach. Inexpensive hotels were added, but the main attraction is still the fish dinners. Since you can't swim or surf, those crowds don't come. People come from Acapulco, and Mexico City (and smaller cities), for the weekend or holidays. Canadians come for longer. There are no tourist shops in town, except for one selling beach toys and bathing suits. It is really wonderful! If you go, stay at Villa Nirvana, and ask for Room 16, unless of course, we are there!

We are now back in the Northwest, with rain, wind and cool temperatures. We nearly froze last night, since the house was unheated while we were gone and we didn't get back til 2:00 am!

Thanks for following along on the blog....next will be our road trip through the West later in the spring.

But the daffodils are budding, the lettuce in the cold frame is ready to pick, plum trees are blossoming, and sun is promised for next week.

Thanks for the memories
I almost feel as if we'd been there with you, It all looked and sounded wonderful! Thanks for the photos and all the information about Cuesta. Glad you made it back home safely...your property, also waterside, looks gorgeous even if the weather isn't! We'll be in Europe nearly all of April and will include your address in our blog if Martin decides to do one (he usually does... I have little to no computer skills). As of now we are planning Madrid, Bilbao, San Sebastian, a train ride across France, East Germany, Prague, and Berlin. We'll see how much of this we can actually accomplish in a month. Hasta luego.
