Tuesday was our last day in Nueva Odisea just outside of San Quintin. Very cool wind here today so we spent time getting things ready so that we can be on the road tomorrow morning. Later we went into San Quintin to get some essenitial as there is not much around our destination area of Bahia de la Concepcion. Essential items, of course, include cerveza!

On the way back to the camp, Mike decided to get the truck washed at this place on the side of the main road. So we bargained for a price for the wash which was agreed upon. The little man immediately began the task when a police car drove up. The car washer then went over to the police, got in the car and left! What can I say???? It can only happen in Mexico. Then there was this woman standing there who explained that she was the carwasher’s mother and that he would be right back. Mike decides to take matters into his own hands and begins to wash the truck!! Finally the carwasher comes back driving the police car! Obviously he had taken the policeman to the station and returned with the car

in order to wash it!! The carwasher returned to his job of finishing washing the truck which was done quite well. But not the windows!

Since it was late when we got back, we decided to go to the little restaurant at the entrance of our campground called Cocina Michoacana. It basically is a little stand with an overlay of netting over a wood frame and down the sides. Al fresco. No menu. It is a family run place and the specialties included a chicken stew, pork stew or steak ranchero which is a chopped steak in a red sauce served with rice, beans and tortillas made by hand and prepared on the spot. Mike and I opted for the chicken stew which was great ! We also had a side of rice and beans as well as tortillas. Dave and Izzy had the steak ranchero with beans rice and tortillas. They really liked their choice as well! The tortillas were FANTASTICOS! The total of the meal including soft drinks was $25 for the four of us! The little gal just kept serving up the freshly prepared tortillas, warm, soft and wonderful! I bet she brought us at least 15 torillas or more!

We all decided not to have a campfire as it was a little too breezy and cool.

I did get my laundry back and the gal who did it did a great job. Everything was impeccably clean and
folded with great care!

Tomorrow………another adventure
