VBS Day 1
Well, surprise to use, we have Internet access at El Oasis thanks to a donation form Baja 1000 motorcyclists. We have to drive up to the access point near the office, but hey we're connected. Our first day was a full travel day. It worked out pretty well. The flight was fine to San Diego, but it took us a full hour to get our vans back. We piled in the luggage sure enough it barely fit. We did our grocery shopping and tool shopping and I thought there would be no way that it would fit but somehow we crammed it all in and off we went. Border crossing was no problem but signs were. I made the famous mistake of making the wron g second turn to Ensenada and Ed starting following a taxi instead of me. So we had find each other in the streets of Tijuana. The highway also took a strange turn and I missed a turn to San Felipe. On highway 3 it started real slow through the windy stretch stuck first behind a garbage truck and the a semi full of scrap steel. Finally by 8 PM we arrived at El Oasis. We had

a dinner and hit the sack. Today was the first day of work and boy is it hot. After 10AM it feels like a furnace. Ed and Jerry started the holes for fence posts for the front gates. We had a team on painting the main entrance. Calvin and Gloria are re-wiring a room in the office. We have a team painting the office. We also went into Valle for grocery shopping and tool shopping. Most of the stores are closed, I guess open on demand. But one good supermarket has pretty much all we need. The afternoon was pretty much unbearable so we are going to get an early start tomorrow.

It's all about HIM!
Yes! You are doing the work HE did when He came down to visit us. You are now His hands to do the work you are doing, His lips to speak of His love, His arms to hold those little ones and make them feel how much He and you care for them. Congratulations in this great work you are doing! We love you all and are very proud of you! (if you go to Ensenada please do not come back without going to "La Bufadora"....it will be a great experience for all of you and it's free!)
