last days

Morgen wacht mama
me op aan de luchthaven :-)
Daaaag Canada, hopelijk tot ziens!

Monday October 6
My last but one day on the island :'-( but a lot of things to do. I'm meeting Sébastien, the 'driver' of our first road trip to do some shopping before I return back to reality. In search of a Levi's ... they told me it was a lot cheaper here. No luck, can't find my size pfff, but found one in one of the many shopping malls just outside Quebec city. I was lucky, a few of my trousers didn't survive the parcs of Quebec, so I was happy to have found a new one.
After a day of rushing with Sébastien, I arrived at Dario's house quite late. We quickly went to Coco and Dodo to say goodbye and to thank them for all the nice moments.
One parc we didn't yet visit and that was Cap Tourment. This is the place where the Canadian geese stop to nourish before the fly to the south.
That would be our last day, Cap Tourment and by than it would be time to catch the train to Montréal.

October 7
With a little delay, we left the house to visit Cap Tourment. Since it took us around 30 minutes to drive from the island to Cap Tourment and taking into account that I had to catch my train, we couldn't really wait for the geese to fly over. By the time we arrived they counted a few thousands, so we thought we would see loads of geese. Nevertheless we didn't see that many. The hunting season for the white snowgeese was open too, so that could be a reason why we didn't see that many.
Since I didn't have that much time, we had to settle with a few we saw through the binoculars. The area around Cap Tournant is quite big so they had plenty of place to hide ;-)
So we went back to the car, on our way to the station.
Dario took his laptop with him and burned all my pictures from the last weeks on 2 dvd's, in case my usb keys wouldn't survive the metal detectors.
With all these nice memories I said goodbye to Dario, what a fantastic few weeks this has been.
Time flies, they say, well you can
Cap Tourment
if you look very carefully, you can see geese on the water say that again.
Tomorrow my mum will wait for me at the airport in Brussels :-)
Bye Bye Canada, hope to see you some day again!
