Travelled on to Kenora, ON on Sunday, Sept. 11 and stayed at The Willows RV Park. Very pretty spot. We are now seeing more coniferous trees, numerous small lakes, and rock typical of the Canadian Shield. The lakes are beautiful here, with 100’s of cottages dotting the shorelines. Tried a bit of tennis, but weather changed to cold and rain, so ended up driving around to sight-see. We packed up after a day, then ended up with a bit of motorhome trouble – had no electricity to our front gauges, so no signal lights, windshield wipers, power seats – everything up front wasn’t working. This had actually been ongoing since we left Saskatoon and had Gerry stumped. We finally took it into a garage and realized it was just a ground, so easy fix, but still cost $90 to find this out! Anyway, late start that day, so travelled a few hours and just stayed overnight on the road at a gas station. Was one of the coldest nights we have had – 2C. Stopped at Kakameka Falls, which was a quick hike and had spectacular falls. Carried on into Thunder Bay, ON, parked the motorhome at Sears, and took off

sightseeing again. We ventured out to Fort William, which was an inland trading post set up by the North West Company. Normally there is a large staff that actually “lives” the part during the early 1800’s. But now that it is off-season, was much quieter with only one staff giving us a tour. Interesting, but still darn cold, windy & rainy. Also checked out a few golf courses as the weather is supposed to improve on Thursday, and even dropped into a casino and spent $5.00 – woo hoo! So, golfed in Thunder Bay at the Strathcona GC, hoping for a nice, sunny day that was promised. Still cool and windy, but ended up not being too bad. Round was okay, but not spectacular.
