My day in Jaffa
I had to take this picture cause I could sware the exact same wall in in Malibu on PCH... OK, so here I am at the end of my second day in Tel Aviv, it was a wonderful day, I started out, packed up my hostel and then made for the market, I heard from something I read that there was a really nice fruit market, but really it was more like a flee market, I do not need another freakin' thing, oh my gosh... People everywhere, stuff everywhere! Oh but I can't forget to tell you that I started out my morning at a place called "My Coffee Shop," had a great cappuccino and wrote in my journal, then I made my way through the market! Finally I came upon the fresh fruits and vegetables and bread, it was lovely. I stopped for some fresh squeezed OJ which cost me about a dollar and was wonderful, if I were staying and Tel Aviv tonight I would have shopped for fruits and veggies, I wish we had more places like this where we live, I really love all the freshness! Some man decided he was in love with me, followed me through and asked me to buy him a ticket to come to America, he did not speak English much,

The ocean in Tel Aviv is really beautiful, that surprised me but could say "I love you" and "fly" "me America," I kept having to tell him no thanks, I don't even know you, he did not understand!
So then I made my way to Jaffa (Dennis thanks for the recommendation), Jaffa was interesting, once again the shore reminded me of Southern CA, Jaffa (from afar) reminded me to La Jolla or Carmel (I know that's northern CA) but all you who know both places understand what I mean. I walked around did the tourist thing, felt a little unsettled, although I think that had to do with the fact that Jaffa was a port that the Turkish Government took over. So the history there is one of unrest. They are rebuilding so there is a mixture of old and new. I found a restaurant called the Aladdin and sat out on the deck overlooking the ocean but was that beautiful, and delicious, I had a lentil soup, Hummus and Mint tea, the sun was shining and all was good.
I then made my way back up toward where my hostel was along the beach and had really good prayer and meditation time, I am so loving my time

Me at the Wishing Bridge here, once again Dad thanks so much for the ipod, it is such a gift and Mom, once again (although I have not told you recently) thanks for the camera, these two gifts I use constantly and are just GREAT!
I leave here in about an hour for Haifa, and in the morning my pilgrimage starts, I can feel the spirit of God all around, I feel very centered and very grateful to be here, I know that this time in my life is so important and is opening me up in a way that I could not have imagined without being here.
Tonight when I came back to the hostel, the man who checked me in at 4am on the morning I arrived was here and asked me where I was going next, I told him "Haifa", he said "there is not much to do in Haifa, not like Tel Aviv, why are you going there?" I told him "I'm starting my Baha'i Pilgrimage tomorrow," he said "oh that's why your so nice, all baha'is are so nice." That was the most wonderful compliment I could ask for. Abdu'l-Baha says that people should know you are a

I had the best lunch here, Lental Soup with Hummos and fresh mint tea, yummy baha'i without you ever having to mention it and I've always tried to live my life this way, that it was seen here really touched my heart.
So know that I will be praying for each of you in the holy shrines and that I'll write again and send pictures when I can.
I love you all, Faith
Picture #1 - I had to take this picture because I sware if you are driving down PCH Hwy from Malibu into Santa Monica there is a mural on the ocean side that is exactly the same...
Picture #2 - I can't believe this guy was fishing with this huge rod and reel talk about "overkill" the base was at least 3 or 4 times the thickness of my thumb, you would have thought he was fishing for something really huge!
Picture #5 - OK this is something you would never see in Southern CA, I couldn't believe I saw it here, but hey I guess anything is possible
