valley of Ha-Khula Headed off this morning at 8am and went past the sea of galilee and northward we are close to the Lebanese border and the Syrian border here as we enter the Golan heights region and we notice more troops doing exercises and tanks covered in camouflage off to the side of the road.
We stopped at rosh-pina a small town near the Lebanese border where in 2006 during the second war with Lebanon they were targeted with many missiles one man who lost a son in the war has set up a memorial and he tells the sad story of his sons death when his tank was hit by an anti tank missile he has set up the memorial at a high point on the hill with a spectacular view over the ha-khula valley , from here we go further north and stop at another view point Raot Naftali looking over the same valley ,this is the start of the rift valley that goes all the way down to the red sea
We head further north to kiryat-shmona the most bombarded town in Israel as it is surrounded on 3 sides with Lebanon borders, we didn’t stop but went

memorial for Nimrod on to Tell Dan a beutifull national park at the spring of Dan which supplies 1/4 billion litres of water to the sea of Galilee every year, this is the largest of 3 springs providing all together ½ billion litres / yr
Also at tell dan as the name suggests there are ruins and evidence of a temple of similar design to the Jerusalem temple but with the inscription alter to the worship of the God zues when this inscription was placed we don’t know but we do know Israel worshipped false Gods here at dan
We kept cool here by walking in the water which was 14 degrees same temperature as Adelaide so our feet know how you feel
We moved on to ceasarea philipi now called Banias where the 2
nd spring is and also a temple to the worship of Pan
The final spring Khatsban we went to meets up with the dan river and becomes the Jordan river, here we got into rafts (blow up boats and went down the river for about an hour and over some minor rapids
Back to our unit and time for tea BBQ again
