Hey hey!

So the planning is slowly falling into place..ive been reading many blogs to pick up some good hints on accomodation!
I need some suggestions for some good places to stay in Bangkok... somewhere where its close to everywhere (transport) and secure (personal items wise)... we are happy to spend about $150 AUD pn max..
And we are also after accomodation suggestions for Phi Phi Island, Krabi and Chiang Mai!

if you could help up we would really appreciate it! Thank you muchly =)

Hello Becthetraveler 😊

If u want to meet lots of travellers stay on or near the Khao San Road in Bangkok.
Here is a link where u can browse and book accomodation for different budgets.

hi bec,

if you have $150 AUD you should be able to get somewhere really nice; accommodation generally is much cheaper than that. We stayed in the Rambuttri Village Inn on Rambutri Rd - this is in the Khao San area Mell talked about above but not actually on Khao San Road which is full of drunk young westerners. We paid just 800 bhat a night in 2007, (maybe 40 or 45 oz dollars); the rooms are v clean with nice bathrooms, air con and TV's, and the place has a swimming pool too.
Nice accommodation on Ko Phi Phi will cost you much more (but prob still within your budget) as it's so touristy. If you've got the money, it's worth paying the extra to get a bungalow type accommodation with your own verandah, prob for about 2000 bhat a night. If you google a website for the island, it'll bring up lots of options.
Krabi really doesn't have much to it so you might want to rethink staying there, it's really just a gateway to the islands. But you can get good accommodation pretty cheaply there.
Chiang Mai we stayed at the SK guest house (sorry can't remember the road it was on) - the rooms were pretty basic but I think you can get nicer ones there, and they do all have aircon and there's a good swimming pool there. Reply to this
