Just a quick one...

Our town got its own golden post box, honouring an Olympic gold medal winner, an athlete with somewhat tenuous links to the place, having attended a very swanky private school nearby, and more recently her parents retired here. Not exactly 'local quine done good', but nevertheless warmly welcomed 'home' and embraced as one of our own and now we have one more local landmark for everyone to pose their kids in front of!

Completely unrelated, I took J & G to a nearby aquarium for a day trip, which was a huge hit, particularly with J, who is rather keen on fish. We went for lunch afterwards at a soft play centre, where they enjoyed playing on these rocking horses.

And Mummy has been having fun playing on real horses too, thanks to UncleStiff's birthday voucher, 'recapturing my youth' as UncleStiff put it, although doing a much better job of staying on this time round (so far)!
