Well, here i am on the Orkneys on a very blustery ,rainy day.After arriving by ferry from Lerwick,Shetland at 11pm ,i rode to the nearby camping site together with Doug and Ollie from Bedford whom i met at Bergen Airport ,Very nice and humorful Englishmen.The Facilities were excellent (after a lady divulged the code needed to enter the the showers etc.) and at £6.50 very reasonable .Had intended travelling to Stromness but the weather put me off,so thats why i,m now able to blog.The time spent on the Shetlands was interesting and exciting visiting Bird colonies in the South at Sumburgh in the the North on Unst which was quite a long trip but after seeing 10 of thousends of bird hatching and feeding their young on the steep cliffs at Hermaness in northern Unst ,it was absolutly breathtaking!
My stay on the Orkneys is limited to 2 days so as to leave enough time to reach Inverness by the 8th.July ,two days before Isabel arrives to our joint cycle trip through the Highlands,may the weather gods shower uns with sunshine.Again, thank you all very much for all your messages.those of you who have asked questions ,such as you,Robert will find me willing to contact you when i return to Germany at the end of September.That it for now.So long and keep the messages coming,its great knowing your out there.Des





Moin alle in Friesland und drumrum,
I verbringe nach wie vor eine tolle Zeit here auf den Schottischen Inseln.Es ist recht kalt ,Zwischen 8 und 17 grad hier aber das macht mir nichts aus,super Fahrrad Wetter.Ich Reise per Faehre uebermorgen auf der Schottische Festland und freue mich wahnsinnig auf das gemeinsammes Urlaub mit Isabel in den Highlands.Leider macht der Internet cafe jetzt zu sodass ich wieder bye bye sagen muss.
