Today we drove north. We took the Causeway Coastal Route. It follows the coast from Belfast to Londonderry. The views were great. It rained most of the way but it was still really pretty.

Along the way we stopped at Carrickfergus Castle. Very cool. This is the first castle we have been in where they actually had life size mannequins set up. Including the king sitting on the throne (toilet).... seriously! They also had a cartoon that you could watch telling the story of the castle.

We drove through to our B&B on Causeway Road. This B&B is actually closer to the Giant's Causeway than the visitors center. Maureen, the owner was very nice and hospitable. She served us the all day breakfast every morning (cuz it lasts all day!). Eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, potatoes, tomatoes, juice and tea or coffee. It lasted all day and probably didn't do much for my waistline! The website for the B&B is www.ardtrabanehouse.co.uk

After checking into the B&B we drove to Dunlace Castle. This castle is in ruins but still pretty cool and in a beautiful location. This castle was also uped in the inner jacket of Led Zepplin's Houses Of The Holy album. We then drove into Portrush. Big mistake. Because it is a holiday weekend most of the towns were having festivals so we spent most of the time in a traffic jam. Frustrated we drove to the Causeway Hotel for dinner and drinks. We had perfect timing.... the place got PACKED after we ordered. The place is located at the Causeway visitor center.
