June 16-20, England We had a wonderful time with the Smith's for 4 days, seeing the English countryside and a day in London. We all enjoyed the cool and crisp weather and the green countryside, which reminded us of the Pacific Northwest. On Saturday, we visited a couple of National Trust homes. At Knole House, which is a 1000 acre property that was originally created for Archbishops of Canterbury to use of hunting and recreation, the kids fed the wild deer that wandered on the grounds. We saw squirrels! After an afternoon soccer game in the Smith's backyard, we went out to dinner at an English Pub called the Little Brown Jug. Hey y'all Well I'm just counting down until I leave for Florida - yay! 1 more sleep to go! Then it will be a week in the sunshine (32C it has been lately), sipping cocktails by the pool, riding on the jet ski, swimming, shopping and just having fun! The past couple of weeks have been fairly busy. Went down to Kent (South London) for Mark's sister's birthday (that's Claire's boyfriend). They have a big country house that use to be an old Mill for Hever Castle that they totally refurbished - it even has a pool, a pond and a big field next to it - basically what us Kiwi's call a paddock, but I dare not say that in front of them all! Well things have been looking up since my last entry. I’ve been getting back into the swing of things and having some fun. Tessa (Monty’s sister) was in town for a few days, so it was great to have some company while Kath and Graham were in Amsterdam. On the plus side, Tessa (a trained hairdresser) did my hair while she was here - so kind of her! One of the really great things about being in London is having the chance to hang out with my mates from uni. Last week, we all met up at the Borough markets near London Bridge, grabbed ourselves some French wine, fresh bread and delicious cheeses. We then trekked to Monique’s house for a lunch feast.
