Snow Snow Snow

It snowed in London
Wow! two and a half months have gone since we left NZ, time has flown. Just to update on what’s been happening Dale and I went through a terrible month settling here, it started when we were flat hunting on gum tree and found a great flat in a good area for quite cheap (too good to be true). After putting 500 pounds into Western Union and knocking on the door to find no one there we realised we were victims of internet scam. Holding our heads up high we went and found another flat and moved in on 1st March it was nice a bit expensive though but a good area. Dale had started a job and I started looking. We started having funny things happen on all three of our credit cards like spending that we didn’t know anything about. Lucky we cancelled our cards. Then by the end of May I had found a job and our flat mate contacted me on a Wednesday avo and told me we had to be out of the flat by Friday at the latest. After working 11 hour days then looking for a new place to live we were exhausted and

stressed (I thought I was going to be homeless). It wasn’t until we moved out we realised that our ex flat mate had been opening all our mail including our bank information (um suspect). We also noticed that a camera, i touch and expensive head phones for our laptop were missing (stolen) AHHH what a disaster by that stage we wanted to pack up and come home.

We kept telling ourselves things would get better and they finally have, we found a great flat for 3 months and we are living with 1 other Italian man he is a bit weird but nice. When we told our new landlord about all the problems we have had he told us that London is a place that you have to practice and learn. I now think we have learnt how to live and survive in London. We are now saving heaps more money because we are a little further out of London. I have a nanny job until June the 27th working 11 hour days with two children. Dale is happy printing and has some good work mates. We have been to Bath and Brighton which we enjoyed and we have been to 2 theatre shows 1 dance show and the Cirque du Soleil which was great. We got to see some snow which was nice since its been cold enough Ive been expecting to see some. I have an anual zoo pass for work and Dale got one too there are so many animals which I have never seen until now, I love the owls Dale will always love the monkeys.

On July the 1st we are flying to Madrid to start 3 months of travelling we are planning on going to Spain, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Amsterdam, Portugal and Morocco. We are booked on tours to do Running of the Bulls in Pamplona -July, La Tomatina in Spain- August and Octoberfest in Germany in September. We have learnt so much in such a little bit of time and I’m sure our summer here is going to be fun.
