Travel Day - Paris to London via Eurostar high speed train through the Chunnel We said goodbye to Paris, France and hello to London, England by way of the Eurostar train. Had an (interesting?) meal - don't ask - and some great French wine to see us through. At the highest speed we were moving nearly 180 kph (about 110 mph), pretty fast for a train. We gained (or lost depending on your point of view!) another hour moving from Paris to London. The UK Eurostar was the first train we have traveled on that screened all of our baggage. Not surprising given all the recent activity. Loading and unloading all your own baggage is an art form and we have it down pretty good - regardless, it is more difficult than air travel which ... read more

hey everyone! crazy week again. went out to the pub a few times last week, karaoke night was a blast but im not too sure the brits appreciated it....saturday we went to stonehenge and bath with my british life and culture class. we got so lucky, rain in kingston but a gorgeous day at stonehenge! it's crazy to imagine how all those ridiculously heavy stones got there. i'm sticking with the theory of aliens. or the ice age made it easier to slide them accross. take your pick. we spent an hour there, then went on the bath, the city of Jane Austen! Unfortunately we didn't have time to go to the jane austen museum which i really wanted to do but it's only a 2 hour drive so i'm gonna try and make it back ... read more

This is a countdown to the day we depart with affixed photos of home, london and family for you to explore. 20 Days Had to get up at 5 in the morning to go upto London this morning (an activity I strongly discourage) in order to pick up our passports with our new shiny Russian visas and head off to the Chinese embassy for a same day service. A very friendly chinese man helped to guide us on our way to obtaining a Chinese Visa before we paid a visit to Regent's Park to see the ostriches and then onto Primrose Hill where we came across a very exciting view and a very excited pug. The morning concluded with us spotting a flustered Les Dennis strolling through the park (the first lifechanging moment of our trip ... read more
