London
Victoria Train Station Hey everyone!
The events of this past week are that Molly and I took a side trip to LONDON!! The flights were really cheap on a student airline called RyanAir and we got to stay with one of Molly's friends from her university in the US so it was relatively cheap to go...which was a definite plus. It is also a place that we are not going to be able to make it to when we do the Eurotrip at the end, so it was great to check another place to see of of my huge list!
We arrived in London at about 2 on Thursday afternoon and the first thing that I noticed is that it is FREEZING there...well atleast to me. For Molly it was like every other day in Minnesota, but for me it was like an Artic trek the whole time. But, no pasa nada, it was definitely worth it to bear the cold because London in beautiful! We had to take a bus ride from the airport into central London, which was about an hour's ride but it gave us time to take in the countryside and acclimate ourselves to the fact that they

first non-Spanish meal!! DRIVE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD!! A little scary to ride at first, but definitely nothing compared to Laudi's crazy driving. But vale, we got into London at about 4 and didn't have to meet Lindsay, Molly's friend until 7 so we got some lunch at a place called Nando's which was recommended by a friend from Valencia that studied there last semester. It was AMAZING to have something other than Spanish food for a bit, even though we love the food here! We tried to walk around and make friends by talking to people, but we realized that the people in London are very "straight" and all business. They don't really have time to concern themselves with other people or meeting new people which I find very sad and extremely un-Spanish. I definitely never got used to that...i mean it is completely silent in the Metro and everyone looked at Molly and I funny when we talked and laughed.
That first night we went out to a famous pizza place in Spain with Lindsay and her CRAZY roommates, but besides that pretty much laid low for the night because we were tired. The British are OBSESSED

Lindsay's house. with Buffy the Vampireslayer, so we watched that for a few hours and went to bed (my bed consisted of the couch cushions on the ground and my coat for a blanket lol).
The next morning Molly and I got up and had an extremely productive day! It was freezing, again, so we literally put on about 7 layers of shirts, then our sweaters, then coats and gloves....i look like a marshmallow in all my pictures lol. The first place that we visited was St. James Palace, which was pretty but overall uneventful 😊. After that though we walked to BUCKINGHAM PALACE, to see the changing of the guards. That was way cool and we got to meet the queen so that was nice......haha just kidding!! I wish, but she was there we just didn't catch a glimpse of her. After that we went and harassed some police officers because they were wearing ridiculous outfits, and got some pictures with them and then walked to the next main sites! As we walked we saw....BIG BEN!!! Very Peter Pan....and huge. Big Ben is the very end of the Houses of Parliament, and right next to that is Westminster Abbey so

St. James Palace--this day was FREEZING! we got to see all of the main sites all in like 20 minutes. We then walked along the river, which was my favorite part of London, and crossed to stop at a little cafe that hangs over the water to get a coffee. We then walked to the London Eye, a huge ferris wheel that loverlooks all of London, and it started to rain...very typical of London. Not too bad though, and we had our umbrellas, so we kept going! That day we also went by the horse guards place and tried to make the guard smile, but couldn't do it, and then went to Trafalgar Square and into the National Art Gallery. That was really cool because we got to see a lot of origin pieces, and pieces that we have went over in our art and history class. Also, all of the museums in London are free, so that is amazing...must be why everything else is so expensive!! 😊
The next two days we wandered with Lindsay and her roommates, doing street markets and things like the Tower of London and Tower Bridge during the day, and going oout at night. We went to a bunch
London
St. James Palace of cool places and drank a TON of hard cider, because it is definitely the drink of London. We also were very fond of a drink called snakebites, which is half cider-half lager, with a splash of grenadine! Yum! British people are crazy and get absolutely "pissed" at like 3PM so we were home at night by like 1 AM, which is a definite change from the usual 7 or 8 AM hour when we get in in Spain....
Our bus back to the airport arrived there at midnight, and our flight didn't leave until 7 AM so we had the fun experience of sleeping on the floor of the London airport with a billion other travelling students. It was definitely fun though, kind of like a free hostel and a way to meet people that were travelling all over the world. Got up at 4 AM, checked in, and went into the plane as soon as we could and PASSED OUT! We got back into Valencia at 11 AM and Laudi picked us up instead of us riding the Metro because we had class at 11:30...not a fun time. But now we are rested, and about to get

Buckingham Palace, where the Queen lives. ready to go out for a tapas bar crawl, so that should be interesting!!
Hope this entry finds everyone well and hope things are great back in the US ( i sound like i am writing a yearly christmas card letter-ugh. 😊 )
love/miss everyone!
abrazos y besos
